UAD Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Successfully Holds Closing Ceremony for SEA Teacher Batch 10: Filipino Students Learn Cultural Diversity
Yogyakarta, February 24, 2025 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) officially concluded the SEA Teacher Batch 10 program with a Closing Ceremony held at the Educators Hall, FKIP, Campus 4 UAD. Nineteen students from six universities in the Philippines participated in this program, including Capiz State University, Central Luzon State University, University of Saint Anthony, West Visayas State University, Adamson University, and University of Saint La Salle.
The event was attended by Dr. Ani Susanti (Vice Dean of FKIP), Afit Istiandaru (Head of International Partnership Division), head of study programs, and representatives from partner schools where the Sea Teacher students conducted their teaching practicum.
For a month, the students from the Philippines had the opportunity to teach in various partner schools while also experiencing the Indonesian culture and education system firsthand. In her speech, Dr. Ani Susanti emphasized the importance of cultural understanding in this program. “Through SEA Teacher program, students learn that differences are real, but it is through these differences that we can understand and appreciate one another. This is the essence of cultural understanding that we instill in this program,” she stated.
The closing ceremony was a memorable moment for the participants. Beyond the academic experience, they also built strong friendships with UAD students and teachers at the partner schools.
With the completion of SEA Teacher Batch 10, FKIP UAD reaffirms its commitment to supporting international student exchange programs and strengthening academic networks at a global level. Hopefully, this program will continue to grow and positively impact education in Southeast Asia.
