FLCC of UAD Opens the Horizon of Islam in Russia
This morning, May 14th, 2013, Faculty of Literature, Culture, and Communication (FLCC) of UAD held a Guest Lecture “American Eyes: Islam in Russia” at Kampus II UAD. Aaron J. Cohen, Ph.D., a Professor and Chair Department of History at California State University, Sacramento, as the speaker explained the historical development of Islam in Russia based on American eyes. This topic was chosen to open up the horizon of English Letters students about the historical development of Islam in Russia and it was related to the topic of the previous Guest Lecture (Islam in America).
“After viewing Aaron’s CV and suggested by Mike ( Michael G. Vann, the speaker of the previous Guest Lecture), we think that this is a good topic because it can open up our horizon on how Islam in Russia is, well-known as a communist country, how its historical development.” said Ulaya Ahdiani, S.S.,M.Hum (a lecturer of English Letters Department and the Vice Dean of FLCC).
