The Office of International Affairs supports the Universitas Ahmad Dahlan’s global vision by providing leadership, raising awareness, facilitating the pursuit of international education and encouraging global collaborations for the university community in the world. OIA UAD was established on August 23rd, 2010 in Yogyakarta. It handles UAD’s international affairs with foreign universities and institutions. OIA UAD is responsible to develop and enhance collaboration with foreign institutions, give services to foreign students and lecturers at UAD, organize administrative requirements for lecturers and/or students of UAD who will travel abroad on behalf of UAD, assist all matters related to international activities at UAD, seek new breakthroughs in building international cooperation, and cooperate with faculties and/or study programs to realize the MOU and/or MOA that have been established with international universities.

Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) is a development of the Institute of Teacher Training and Education (Teachers’ Training College) Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The latter Institute is a development institution of Higher Education Guidance and Counseling Branch of Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta established on 18th November 1960. UAD is located in Yogyakarta, a special district in the southern part of Central Java renowned as a center of education and classical Javanese fine art and culture. UAD is one of the leading world private universities and is rated as one of the Top 50 Promising universities in Indonesia by Directorate General of Higher Education in 2011. Since its establishment, the university has sustained a strong tradition of academic integrity and gained an excellent reputation for its educational programs, research and student’s services. Besides, now UAD has five campuses (Click the link to see the pictures of our campuses) spread on strategic location in Yogyakarta that known as city of student and city of culture.
UAD offers community service programs from which students can draw authentic experience as well as invaluable insights into Indonesian traditional culture and everyday life of local communities.
UAD consists of 10 faculties, with 30 undergraduate programs and 6 postgraduate programs. It also offers 2 international classes: Economic and International Business and Indonesian Language and Culture Study.
In 2013, UAD has 403 lecturers and 304 staff. It has a total number of 14.898 local students and 116 international students who are currently studying on a short and long term basis. In addition, many students from different countries come to UAD to enroll for short courses such as Indonesian language and culture study and Cultural Camp program.
