Ahmad Dahlan Global Engagement (ADGE) conducted the Onboarding Ceremony for International Community Service Program (KKN International)
After three years pandemic, Ahmad Dahlan Global Engagement (ADGE) started conducting offline activities. One of the activities is International Community Service Program (KKN Internasional). During this program, UAD students are scheduled to conduct activities at schools and in local society in Thailand.
This year, UAD will send 16 students from 10 different study programs. They will teach at three schools in Thailand. Imam Khairil Akbar (English Education), Bambang Syachirul Alim (Chemical Engineering), Belia Ananda Putri (English Literature), Dita Laudza dan Rizky Widyansyah Putra (Psychology), dan M. Hibzah Dasa Okka (Islamic Banking System) will teach at Kalamullah Al-Qur’an dan Multilingual School.
Five students will teach at Songserm Sasana Vittaya School (SSVS). They are Rafa Nafisah (Informatic Engineering), Inkana Uswah Azizah and Ghina Azmi Faaiqoh (English Literature), Raindras Dilla Arsa (Food Technology), and Mahdaniatul Khusna (Arabic Language and Literature). Mochammad Adhis Raihan (Food Service Business), Hassika Laila (English Education), Ibnu Adhitia Pratama (Management), Darmayanti Husen and Galih Prastyo Nugroho (English Literature) will teach at Sangkhom Islam Vittaya School.
UAD conducted three preparation classes for the students. The students attended Thai language classes for two weeks taught by Thai students of UAD. They eagerly participated in daily activity conversation class.
Besides that, the students also attended the Cross-Cultural Understanding class delivered by alumni of the International Community Service Program and Alumni Teaching in Thailand program participants. It helps them to get a better understanding of detailed activities at school and in local society in Thailand.
Last but not least, UAD invited Preecha Roengsamut from the Islamic Integrated School Network and Soontorn Piyawason (Head of Kalamullah al-Qur’an and Multilingual School) to share their experiences in teaching at elementary and primary schools in Thailand.
The onboarding ceremony was conducted for two days from 20 to 21 December 2022 and officially opened by Dwi Santoso, Ph.D. (The head of Ahmad Dahlan Global Engagement) and Beni Suhendra Winarso S.E., M.Si. (The Head of Community Service Division from the Institute for Research and Community Service of UAD). It was followed by a speech delivered by Ida Puspita, M.A. Res. (The Head of International Cooperation Division) on the International Community Service Program Activities Report.
