UAD Enlarges Cooperation in India

Indonesian Private University Association (APTISI) under Yogyakarta’s Private University Association (APTISI Yogyakarta) cooperated with TIE UPS India visited some universities in India. In this period of time, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum. as the head of APTISI Yogyakarta (he was chosen in two periods) was represented 11 privates universities of Yogyakarta  and at the same time as the Rector of UAD, he signed MoU with  Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) and Nitte University.

Moreover, the team visited Garden University in Bangalore to discuss further cooperation after MoU signing in the previous meeting. Actually UAD has quite number of cooperation with Garden City University (GCU) after the official MoU signing, such as Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum. was invited as one of the keynote speakers in International conference conducted by GCU last August. After that, in November, UAD sent 5 Graduate students of Psychology to sitting in for one month at GCU.

 

 

UAD welcomes International Students

UAD welcomed 60 international students. They come from numerous number of countries and under larger number of program. They are Darmasiswa students (Egypt, Tunis, Vietnam, Thailand and China), Joint Degree (2+2 and 3+1) students from Guangxi University for Nationalities, Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre (SBPAC),  Muslim Education Development Association of Thailand (MEDAT), regular students, etc.

 

UAD Conducts A Friendship Day for International Students

Located at Desa Wisata Dolan Deso Boro Kulonprogo, UAD under International Office conducted A Friendship Day for 60 new international students. They came in the last of August 2017 and they have been studying at some Departments such as English Education, English Letters, Arabic Language, Indonesian Language Education and Culture, Economics Development, Public Health, Mathematics, etc.

This year, International students of UAD come from numerous number of countries and under larger number of program. They are Darmasiswa students (Egypt, Tunis, Vietnam, Thailand and China), Joint Degree (2+2 and 3+1) students from Guangxi University for Nationalities, Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre (SBPAC),  Muslim Education Development Association of Thailand (MEDAT), etc.

In this great time, international students got hands-on experience of Indonesian traditional games and culture.

UAD Sends Joint Degree Students to Guangxi University for Nationalities

Located at Ruang Dekanat Faculty of Industrial Technology, Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D. (Vice Rector IV),  and Kartika Firdausy, S.T., M.T. (Dean of Faculty of Industrial Technology) officially delivered speech in the Technical Meeting of Joint Degree  Program Departure Preparation.

This year, UAD sent nine  students to study at Guangxi University for Nationalities under Joint Degree Program. They are seven students from Informatics Engineering Program and two students from Economics Management. All of them have studies in UAD for two year since 2015, and they are scheduled to study at UAD’s partner university in China from 2017 to 2019.

What is AIYLS all about?
 
In order for any product to be considered halal or legal under Islamic law, it must meet specific production regulations. Certain foods and manufacturing process are legal, while others are not those are not called Haraam. The halal industry includes companies that are certified halal, meaning that their products and methods meet the appropriate criteria, as well as those that offer halal services and lifestyle choices. This industry is not restricted to Muslim countries, but has a presence in many nations around the world. The only way to truly fulfill the potential of halal industry is for players to embrace the different trends, lifestyle and worldview of youths today. The youth of today is very much technology-dependent. In Malaysia, 60% of the total population uses the internet with 16 million tweets posted every day and 5.5 million Malaysian accounts on Instagram. More than one-third of the population has Facebook accounts, of which 40% are between the ages of 18-24. Then, the youth of today has more cross-cultural interactions than any generation in history. This is helped by the internet that provides borderless connectivity within seconds.
 
Purposes of the AIYLS
  1. Enable students to understand the different aspects of leadership.
  2. Encourage student to hone their leadership skills.
  3. Assist students in realizing their own strengths.
  4. Provide opportunities for students to share ideas and reflect in a small group setting.

UAD Strengthen Cooperation in Thailand

Universitas Ahmad Dahlan participated in Thailand Education Fair at Convention Center of Prince of Songkla University. In this opportunity, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. (Director of International Office of UAD) and Ina Ruslinah, M.Hum. (Staff of International Office of UAD) introduced UAD to thousands of visitors who visited UAD’s booth. The visitors are mostly students of Senior High Schools, students of Junior High Schools, their teachers, representatives of UAD’s partner schools in Thailand, alumni of UAD, etc.

Further, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. and Ruslinah, M.Hum. were invited by Consulate of Republic Indonesia in Songhkla. In this visit, they discussed series of cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand, besides representative of Consulate of Republic Indonesia in Songhkla appreciated large number cooperation between UAD and Educational Institutions in Thailand.

In the next day, representative of Directorate of Higher Education of Muhammadiyah Central Assembly, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. (Director of International Office of UAD) and some representatives of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education discussed series of possible cooperation with representatives of Prince of Songkla University.

 

UAD Strengthens Cooperation with Indian University

After, the first and outstanding India Edu Fair, that was conducted under cooperation between Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) with TIE-UPS International in 29 January t0 1 February 2017 at Kampus 1 UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum. (Rector of UAD) and Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. (Director of International Office) visited some Indian universities for one week.

During the visit, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum. and Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. visited, met and discussed with some universities those have singned MoU woth UAD. Further, in this visit, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum. was invited as one of the keynote speaker in a conference conducted by Garden City University (one of UAD’s partner). He also visited some laboratories of the universities.

To strengthen cooperation,  Rector of UAD signed MoU with Sona College of Technology, AIMS Institutes of Banglore and Krupanidhi Group of Institutions.

 

 

 

National Forum of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah International Office

Located at Condotel Carebosi Hotel, Makassar, 22 to 24 July 2017, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makasar cooperated with Directorate of Higher Education of Muhammadiyah Central Assembly conducted A National Forum of International Office of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education. This meeting addresses on “Enhancing Partnership among ASEAN Higher Education Institutions”.
Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. (Director of International Office of UAD and the head of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah International Office Forum) is invited as one of the keynote speakers.

Further, in this chance, all of the representatives of National Forum of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah International Office chose the new leaders.
Congratulation for the new leaders of National Forum Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah International Office, Mr. Endang Zakaria and Mrs. Shanty Santhy Hawanti, Ph.D. (vice leader).

Closing Ceremony of International Students of UAD 2017

Located at Ruang Auditorium Kampus 1 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), 20th May 2017, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan under International Office Affairs conducted a closing ceremony of international students. This year, there 108 international students graduated from UAD, they studied in three different program those are; 9 Darmasiswa students (students who studied Indonesian language and culture under Indonesian government scholarship program. They come from Ukraine, Vietnam, Thailand and Laos), 80 students of 3+1 Joint Degree Program betwenn UAD and Guangxi University for Nationalities and Xiangshihu College, 9 students of  2+2 Joint Degree Program between UAD and Guangxi University for Nationalities and 9 regular students from Thailand.

In this period, the ceremony is themed “Marleen Kondang”. It is adapted from the folklore of West Sumatera, Indonesia. It was officially opened by Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D. (Vicer Rector IV) then followed by speech delivered by Ida Puspita,M.A.Res. (director of International Office Affairs). Further, this event was attended by Dra. Salamatun Asakdiyah, M.Si. (Dean of Faculty of Economics), Drs. Umarino, M.Hum. (Dean of Faculty of Letters, Culture and Communication), lecturers of Darmasiswa, some lecturers of UAD, and head of some bureau.

International students performed some of Indonesian and their countries culture such as: 17 Chinese students sang “Indonesia Pusaka”, 8 Chinese students danced “Yospan” from Papua, Malaysian students musical poetry, Thai students performed “Likehulu dance”, Chinese students sang “Sepatu” (a song by Tulus), “Tor-tor dance” performance and in the last of the ceremony Darmasiswa students performed musical drama of “Malin Kundang”.

Ida Puspita,M.A.Res. said, “ Closing ceremony is a yearly event conducted for international students. The number of students continuously increases. Further, the variation of students’country is far larger compared to the previous years.  This event aims to give chances to the international students to show their great achievements during studying in UAD. Moreover, this is a great chance for international students to introduce their countries through culture”.

She added, “We hope that they can introduce Indonesia especially UAD in their home countries”.
