Three Delegations of Guangxi Medical University, China, Visit UAD
/in Event, News/by adminMonday, December 3, 2013, three delegations of Guangxi Medical University, China, visited Campus I of UAD. The three delegations were Prof. Xiao Qiang, Dean of School of International Education, Ms. Ran Tian, Director of International Office, and Ms. He Fei, a Chinese lecturer. Rector of UAD, Vices Rectors, Head of International Office, and Deans of Faculty, warmly welcomed the three delegations. They held a meeting with the delegations and discussed further cooperation between two universities. This month, December 20-24, three lecturers from Pharmacy Faculty of UAD, will also visit Guangxi Medical University to attend some programs. The meeting was closed by token of gratitude and photo session.
7 Darmasiswa Students of UAD Finish Their Community Engagement Program
/in Event, News/by adminAfter three weeks conducting community engagement program, November 30, 2013, UAD, represented by OIA (Office of International Affairs), withdrew all Darmasiswa students from the community engagement locations. The first location was SD Muhammadiyah Prambanan at Bokoharjo village, Prambanan, Sleman. The second location was SD IT Baiturrahman in Tlogo village, Klaten. The international students thank all teachers and students at the school, and also the owners of their homestay. They were very happy during their stay at the homestay because Bapak and Ibu are really kind and care of them, just like Bapak and Ibu own children. They were also happy to have a chance to teach at Indonesian school because all students were really enthusiastic when studying with them.

Two International Students of UAD Join Fam Trip Activity Held by the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sport Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta

Thursday, November 28, 2013, two international students of UAD who come from China, Song Caiyue (Wati) and Chen Xiaoxia (Susiana), joined a Fam Trip to Kulonprogo. This trip was organized by the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sport Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta. Accompanied by Nur Janah, one Indonesian friend, during the Fam Trip, they visited some tourism objects in Kulonprogo, played outbound games and watched the process of handicraft making and batik painting.
“Even though we were very tired because the trip took a whole day, but we were very happy to join all activities. It’s a new experience for us as foreigners.” Said Susiana.

UAD Signs an MoU with La Trobe University, Australia
/in Event, News/by adminNovember 20, 2013, UAD, represented by Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., signed an MoU with La Trobe University, Austalia, represented by Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President, Prof. John Rosenberg. The two universities agree to promote exchange and cooperation in all appropriate and agreed academic areas of research and teaching, the development of new areas of research and teaching, and the sharing and dissemination of information and documentation in areas of mutual interest. It is also agreed to facilitate exchange of and cooperation between the staff of both universities in research, publication, teaching, and supervision, and examination of students, mounting of conferences and other areas of mutual interest.
UAD Attends The 6th Review Meeting of the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme
/in Event, News/by adminNovember 22-23, 2013, two delegations of UAD attended The 6th Review Meeting of the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme held by SEAMEO RIHED (Regional Center for Higher Education Decvelopment) at Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai, Thailand. The two delegations are Ida Puspita, M.A.Res, the head of international office UAD and Ulaya Ahdiani, S.S., M.Hum., the vice dean of Faculty of Literature, Culture and Communication. Hosted by the office of Higher Education Commission, the Ministry of Education, Thailand, the participants of the event were the delegations of Ministry Representaties and higher education institutionas around ASEAN hosting in AIMS programme.
Universitas Ahmad Dahlan has participated in this program since 2010 by sending 3 students from English Letters Department to Thammasat University, Thailand. Then, every year UAD actively participates in this program by sending its students to Thammasat University and Universiti of Malaya. In 2011 UAD sent 4 students from English Letters Department to Thammasat University. In 2012 UAD sent 2 students from English Letters Department to Thammasat University and 2 students from Arabic Language and Literature to Universiti of Malaya. In 2013 UAD will send 2 students from English Letters Department to Thammasat University and 3 students from Arabic Language and Literature to Universiti of Malaya.
Erwanda Bayu Kuntani, A Student of English Education UAD, Gets an ASEAN Award as an Outstanding Youth in Social and Culture Field
/in Event, News/by adminNovember 11-15, 2013, Erwanda Bayu Kuntani, a student of English Education UAD, joined the 19th ASEAN Youth Day Meeting (AYDM) and Awards 2013 in Hanoi and Ha Long City in Quang Ninh province, Vietnam. The purpose of the ASEAN Youth Day is to highlight the role and contribution of young people in ASEAN towards the development and sustainable prosperity of the ASEAN region. The ASEAN Member Countries take turns, to organise a special program bringing together youth and youth leaders from all ASEAN countries to commemorate the AYDM. The AYDM provides a good chance for youth from ASEAN countries to share information, experience and initiatives to promote mutual understanding and cooperation.
In the event, Bayu, represented Indonesia as the Indonesian National Outstanding Youth 2013, followed the judging processes such as presentation, interview, and performed a traditional dance named “Pesona Batik Ayu” Which is originally created by himself. By the end of the event, Bayu, born on March 23, 2013 in Bantul, was awarded as an ASEAN Outstanding Youth in Social and Culture.
International Students of UAD Join Indonesia International Student Summit 2013

Thursday-Sunday, November 14-17, 2013, three international students of UAD joined Indonesia International Student Summit (IISS) 2013. They students were Norcaisa Gohya Mudsol from Philipines, Meng Jiejun and Wei Meilian from China. They were accompanied by the International students Affairs UAD, Dessy Kamila Sari, S.S. Themed “The Role of Foreign Students in Introducing Indonesia to the International”, this event was held by Directorate of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture Indonesia cooperated with Universitas Padjajaran (Unpad) in Campus of Unpad Bandung.
During the event, the students gathered with other international students from other universities in Indonesia, attended some seminars and joined writing and debating competition, watching some cultural performances and visited some tourism objects in Bandung. While visiting the tourism objects, they played some traditional games from West Java. They also attended the launching of Indonesian International Students Association (IISA) website by the General Directorate of Higher Education continued by the technical explanation by the President of International Students. IISA was founded in 2012 and in this year international student summit, the new president was elected.
“We are very happy to have a chance joining this program. Even if we haven’t win the competition, but it was a very nice experience. I get motivated to improve my Indonesian language competence better.” Said Norcaisa.
UAD Delivers 7 International Students to Conduct Community Engagement Program in Villages and Schools near Prambanan
/in Event, News/by adminSaturday, November 10, 2013, UAD officially delivered 7 international students from Darmasiswa program to conduct a community engagement program in villages and schools near Prambanan Temple. The students are divided into two groups. Group 1 consists of Yashnar Sa’dullayev from Uzbekistan, Lilla Tolnai from Hungary, Tejas Yambem from India, and Mitsuyuki Sato from Jepang. Group 1 will conducts activities in SD Muhammadiyah Prambanan such as teaching English, Chinese, Japanese, games, songs, etc. They will also have activities with youth, children, and adults in Bokoharjo village, Prambanan, Sleman, such as cooking, teaching, helping the social activities, etc. Group 2 consists of Mate Molnar from Hungary, Han Renping from China, and Rajkumar Dimbajit from India. Group 2 will teach in SD IT Baiturrahman, and also have activities in Tlogo village, Klaten. They will teach foreign languages, games, cooking, handicraft, etc., to the society.
The program will be conducted for three weeks, from November 9 to 30. During the time, the international students stay with local people’s house. The owners of the house are their parents for them during the program. Besides, one lecturer, Surono, M.Hum., will act as a guiding lecturer for the two groups. All students at school and society at villages warmly welcomed the international students. They were all happy and can’t wait for the activities with the international students of UAD.
