UAD Sent 8 Students from Faculty of Teacher Training and Education for Internship in Thailand and Philippines

UAD sent 8 students from Faculty of Teacher Training and Education for internship to Thailand and Philippines under the SEA-Teacher program. This was the second time UAD sent its students for internship abroad for one month. In the batch 6, UAD only sent 5 students, in batch 7 UAD sent 8 students.
The students came from several different study programs. English Education sent Hartini to Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, Thailand and Siti Aminah to Benguet State University, Philippines. Physical Education sent Neneng Triyunita to Capiz State University, Philippines, Dwi Ayu Lestari to Chiang Rai Rajabhat University and Fitri Kurnia Dewi to Benguet State University, Philippines. Primary Teacher Education sent Stima Anggita Putri to Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, Thailand and Agtari Dwi Utami to Capiz State University, Philippines. Mathematics Education sent Riska Auliyah to Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, Thailand. The eight students had been selected both from the internal UAD and from university hosts from Thailand and Philippines. SEA-Teacher is a routine program involving Southeast Asian countries and facilitated by SEAMEO, which is an organization of education ministries in Southeast Asia.
The student had been given language training and technical matters related to the implementation of international internships from UAD. In addition, students were required to attend online orientation from SEA-Teacher. The training and orientation were expected to help students to adapt to the language, culture and education system of the destination country. According to the head of the Office of International Affairs, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res, “This program is very important because students will get international certificates that can be used as provisions to become Asean level teachers”.
UAD under Office of International Affairs Held The 9th International Day
/in News/by adminUAD again held International Day on 8 December 2018 in Campus IV, UAD. This year, the International Day was enlivened by 17 culinary stands from various countries such as Egypt, Poland, Vietnam, Tajikistan, Turkey, Spain, Bangladesh, Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Timor Leste, Thailand, and Malaysia. Besides international food bazaar, the event also had stand-up comedy competition for foreign students. The event was opened by the Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M. Hum then followed by a stand-up comedy competition and several performances from various countries and the last was the international food bazaar.
International Day UAD has been regularly held since 2009. This year the international UAD took the theme Culture Festival, UAD foreign students were required to present art performances that represent their respective cultures. Ida Puspita, MARes said, “In this event, the students are able to express arts, as well as to promote the culture of their respective countries to the Indonesian community “.
UAD Opens The First Growth Hub in Indonesia
/in News/by adminUAD launched the Office of Business Affairs and Innovation (KUBI) on 27 November 2018 at Campus 2 of UAD Jalan Pramuka no 42. This office is the part of the Erasmus + Grant GITA (Growing Indonesian Triangular Approach) project. GITA Indonesia project, Erasmus + provided grants to 11 universities from 5 countries, namely 7 universities from Indonesia (Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, President University, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Universitas Padjajaran, Universitas Negri Semarang ,Universitas Brawijaya, and STIE Malangkucecwara) and 4 universities from Europe (University of Glocestershire from England, Dublin Institute of Technology from Ireland, Fachhochschule des Mittelstands from Germany, and Innsbruck University from Austria). The GITA project aims to synchronize three aspects, such as forming university collaboration, generating alumni with the entrepreneurial spirit and forming new business units.
KUBI aims to incubate start-up business and the UAD Growth Hub will be the center of entrepreneurship activities in UAD for students, alumni, lecturers, employees, and UAD stakeholders. KUBI is also an incubation facility to develop innovations and exploit new ideas applied to local and regional economies in the form of start-up business. The event was attended by various groups, such as the representation of PP Muhammadiyah, Prof. Yunahar Ilyas and the representation of Mayor of Yogyakarta, Drs. Edy Heri Suasana, M.Pd , several representatives from local government agencies, the private sector, and associations. business associations and Chamber of Commerce in Yogyakarta.
UAD conducted collaborative activity with UiTM Pahang, Malaysia.
/in News/by adminUiTM Pahang, Malaysia visited UAD on 6-10 November 2018 to conduct the collaborative activity. The visit was a return visit from UiTM which had previously been visited by the English education study program UAD. On the first day, the delegation of UiTM had the city tour and visited several landmarks of Yogyakarta.
On the second day, UAD and UiTM conducted the collaborative public lectures on several study programs. The Management study program with Dr. Mohd Kamal Azman Bin Jusoh as the speaker held public lectures on the concept of dept in the Islamic view. English education study program with Dr. Badli Ehsam Ahmad and Dr. Tengku Intan Suzila Bt Tengku Sharif held as the speaker held public lectures on ELT in the digital era. Arabic language and literature study program also held the public lectures with Dr. Norhapizah Mohd Burhan as the speaker. Informatics systems study program invited Mr. Mohd Ikhsan Raus to deliver a public lecture on the image of professionalism in the social media.
On the third day, the delegation of UiTM had a trip to Timang beach as the part of the edu-tourism program and to introduce the tourism potentials of Yogyakarta. On the last day, Prof. Sarbiran, the vice rector IV of UAD delivered a closing remark stated that UAD and UiTM should continue to have collaborative lectures, to maximize the knowledge exchange between two universities and two nations as well.
Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Oficially Sends Five Students to Joint SEA Teacher Program

The Sea Teacher Program or the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia is an opportunity for all students from the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) member countries to teach abroad. There are 11 participating countries (Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam). This year, UAD for the first time sends and accepts students for the program. Nor Hasanah from Mathematics Education, she will teach at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (VRU) Thailand, Lathief Viana Saryhaque Hadyyuwono from Biology education, she will teach in VRU Thailand, Putri Maghfirotul Hasanah from Physics Education, she will teach at Benguet State University ( BSU) Philippine, Nila Wati from English Education, she will teach at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (VRU) Thailand, and Suryani from Early Childhood Education (PAUD), she will teach at Thepsatri Rajabhat University (TRU) Thailand.
In the same occasion, UAD also sent 15 students for AIMS program. Arabic Language and Literature sent 10 students namely Iqbal Mubarok, Muhammad Deden Irwandi, Aditya Prayogo, Aji Saeful Ramdan, Restu Agung Fadilah, Siti Muflikhah Uswanas, Hafizatur Rahmi and Novia Nurhayati who will study at Universiti of Malaya (UM) from September 2018 until January 2019. English letters sent 5 students namely, Elisa Istianah and Helmatun Fauza Ulfah who will study at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia from September 2018 until January 2019 and Galih Prabowo, Nida Zakiatul Khusna and Yumna Afaf Hanifah who will study at Thammasat University Thailand from August to December 2018.
UAD and UII Jointly Hosted The 3rd Meeting of GITA
/in Event, Feature, News, Scholarship/by adminLocated at Meeting Room 10th Floor Kampus 4 UAD, UAD and UII jointly hosted The 3rd Meeting of Growing Indonesia – A Triangular Approach (GITA), Erasmus+. The meeting was conducted in two days, the first day was in UII and the second day in UAD.
The morning of 20 July 2018, firstly, participants visited Kampus 2 UAD to see the improvement of the business center of UAD. All participants overwhelmingly checked every corner and expressed their appreciation for the effort and the very fast process of improving entrepreneurship in UAD.
After that, they moved to Kampus 4 UAD. The meeting was officially opened by Dr. Abdul Fadlil, M.T. (Vice Rector III of UAD) and led by Neil Towers from University of Gloucestershire (UOG).
In the first meeting, representative of UAD, UII, Nadine Sulkowski (University of Gloucestershire (UOG)), Annabelle Holder (University of Gloucestershire (UOG)), John Jameson (Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT)), Paul Oreilly (Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT)), Sharon Feeney, and representatives of Presiden University, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Padjajaran, and STIE Mangkuceswara Malang evaluated and monitored the ongoing process of the last meeting agreement. Further, Stakeholder presentation and each representative presented their next plans.
After praying Jum’at (Friday Prayers), alumni of UAD and UII presented their business. The meeting was ended by deciding that the 4th meeting will be conducted in Austria.

Yudha Puratmaja, An Outstanding Student of UAD
/in Event, Feature, International Office Activities, News/by adminYudha Purajmaja is an active last semester student of Faculty of Public Health of UAD. He has a large number of national and international achievement. In 17th-23th June 2018, he participated in Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) 2018 di Maharishi Markandershwar Deemed to be University (MMDU), India. He was one of two students of UAD and one of 20 students from ten countries who participated in this event. This event aims to enhance soft skill, strengthen teamwork, improve communication skills, introduce Indian culture through a city tour, and exchange culture among the participants.
There are numbers of activities in this event such as visiting Department of Preventive and Social Medicine of MMDU, having class on Non-Communicable Disease dan Communicable Disease in India, and city tour to Chandigarh dan Kurukshetra. In the last of this event, Yudha was chosen as the Mr. Talented of Youth Leadership Camp 2018”. It was decided based on his performance in introducing Indonesia through Indonesian dancing.
Yudha had been international buddies (iBuddies) of International Office Affairs (OIA) for two periods. He said that, “Being part of International Buddies gives larger opportunities to get information about international seminars and scholarship to study abroad”.
Furthermore, in 2016, he got an outstanding opportunity to study at Khon Kaen University, one of UAD’s partner in Thailand. He studied under the full grant of Belmawa of Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. In 2017, Yudha represented Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) in a Global Youth Culture Camp 2017 conducted at Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea.
