Southeast Asia Psychology International Seminar (SAPIC) 2013
/in Event, News /by adminSaturday to Monday,24th-26th August 2013, Faculty of Psychology UAD cooperated with the Association of Islamic Psychologist (API) held the Southeast Asia Psychology International seminar (SAPIC) 2013 at Campus I UAD. The speakers of the seminar were Prof. Dr. Hora Tjitra (Zhejiang University, China), Associate Prof. Muhammad Nubli (University of Malaysia Pahang), Prof. Noeng Muhadjir (University of Ahmad Dahlan), Associate Prof. AM Diponegoro (University of Ahmad Dahlan), Associate Prof. Intan Hashimah (University of Sains Malaysia) and Associate Prof. Bagus Riyono (Gadjah Mada University).
Dr. Kasiyarno, M. Hum, the Rector of UAD, when officially opened this event, said that recently the countries in southeast Asia face a lot of problems such as in economy, politic, social, and domestic (family). “In the spiritual dimension, it’s found that many people face life emptiness lose the true meaning of life.”
The international seminar themed spirituality, well-being and social harmony were attended by researchers, post-graduate students, and others to actively participate in discussing the ideas, solutions, and researches related to the theme.
International Students of UAD Join a Parade to Celebrate the 68th Indonesian Independence
/in Event, News /by adminSaturday, 24th August 2013, some international students of UAD joined a Parade of Pembangunan to celebrate the 68th Indonesian Independence. The 7 students, coming from China, wore Javanese traditional clothes; the girls with Kebaya and Jarik, while the boys with Blankon, Lurik, and Kuda Lumping attribute. The 10 students, coming from South Thailand, wore Saman dancer costumes. The 17 international students started the parade from the office of Tourism Department of DIY, then walked along Malioboro street and finished at front of the King’s palace of Yogyakarta at alun-alun utara.
The parade itself was arranged by Tourism Department of DIY and joined by 39 communities/institutions with more than 500 participants. Thousands viewers along Malioboro street enthusiastically watched and took pictures of the parade. It was more splendid with the performance of drum band, marching band, dance, attraction, etc.
All international students of UAD, joining this parade, were very happy to have this new experience. Aji (Zhu Zhixin), a student from China, said that though it was quite tiring, but he was really excited and happy joining the parade.
The International KKN of UAD to Contribute for People in Philippines
/in Event, News /by adminFriday, 23rd August 2013, 11 students of Biology Education Study Program UAD officially left UAD to conduct an International Community Development Program (KKN) at Lab School Nueva Caceres University, Naga City, Philippines. They are Persita Pupung Hariadi, Aprelia Pangestika, Angga Dwi Prasetyo, Herdik Hermawan, Winda Purnama Sari, Yulisna Hawarya, Leny Aprilina Sari, Utami Khoerunnisa, Ana Dian Rahayu, Parni Astuti, Yuningsih.
Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum. delivered the 11 students in ruang sidang rektorat and gave some words to them. Mr. Kasiyarno said that this KKN program is one of UAD’s contribution to the international community especially people in Philippines.
This program will be conducted for one month with various interesting programs. Since they are Biology Education students, they will conduct programs related to their competence such as introducing people how to make Tempeh (Indonesian food), teaching Biology to students at school with cross word, contextual teaching and learning, jigsaw, etc.. Furthermore, on religion or Islamic program, they will introduce and teach Islamic value especially kemuhammadiyahan, how to pray, wudhu and memorizing daily dua, etc.. For art and sport programs, they will also introduce Indonesian traditional game and sport such as engkling, dakon, cublak-cublak suweng, jamuran, etc. to people in Philiphines.
At Nueva Caceres University they will hold a guest lecture with two speakers. The first speaker, Dr. Abdul Fadlil, M.T., a lecturer of Information Engineering and Vice Rector III of UAD, will present “Pattern Recognition System and Its Application. Meanwhile, the second speaker, Irfan Yunianto, M. Sc. will present “Implementation of Lesson Study to Solve Student’s Learning Difficulties in Class”.
All 11 students joining this International KKN Program are very excited and can’t wait for the wonderful experience in Philippines. The Indonesian Consulate in Philippines also really support this program and hope that this program will contribute for better relationship between Indonesia and Philippines. Ida Puspita, M.A. as the head of international office of UAD expects that the students could be good representatives of UAD and Indonesia.
Delegations of Public Health Faculty Khon Kaen University Visit Rector of UAD
/in Event, News /by adminWednesday, 21st of August, 2013, 6 delegations of Public Health Faculty Khon Kaen University, Thailand, visited rector and vices rector of UAD at Kampus I UAD. The delegations were Prof. Dr. Somsak Pitaksanurat (Dean Faculty of PH KKU), Prof. Dr. Wongsa Laohasiriwong (Vice Dean for international relation and cooperation strategies), Prof. Ganjana Nathapindhu (Vice Dean for Administration), Prof. Dr. Pannee Banchonhattakit (Head of Promotion Department), Dr. Ratthappol Kraiklang (Asisistant of Vice Dean), and Mrs. Karuna Soroschinda (Senior Administrative Officer).
In the meeting, rector of UAD and Dean Faculty of PH KKU discussed about the cooperation between UAD and KKU, also gave special souvenir each others. At the same day, delegations of PH KKU also had a signing ceremony of cooperative agreement and one day seminar at Campus III UAD.
One Day Seminar Themed “Communicable and Non Communicable Disease in Thailand and Indonesia”
/in Event, News /by adminWednesday, 21st of August, 2013, Faculty of Public Health UAD held One Day Seminar themed “Communicable and Non Communicable Disease in Thailand and Indonesia” at auditorium Kampus III UAD. The speakers of the seminar were Prof. Dr. Wongsa Laohasiriwong, Vice Dean for international relation and cooperation strategies FPH KKU and Solikhah, SKM, M.Kes. with Dr. Lina Handayani as the moderator.
In the seminar, the speakers shared the knowledge about hot issues in Thailand and Indonesia especially the communicable and non communicable disease, also the strategies implemented for prevention of disease. After the seminar, Faculty of Public Health KKU and Faculty of Public Health UAD signed a cooperative agreement. Dean Faculty of PH UAD, Rosyidah, M. Kes., hoped that UAD and KKU will have a good cooperation especially in student and teacher exchange, visiting lecturer, visiting seminary, joint research and publication.
Signing Ceremony of Cooperative Agreement Between Public Health Faculty UAD and Khon Kaen University Thailand
/in Event, News /by adminWednesday, 21st of August 2013, the Faculty of Public Health UAD and Faculty of Public Health Khon Kaen University (KKU) signed a cooperative agreement at auditorium Kampus III UAD. The agreement is a bridge for further cooperation such as student and teacher exchange, visiting lecturer, visiting seminary, joint research and publication, etc.
Coming to sign the agreement, Dean Faculty of Public Health (FPH) KKU, Prof. Dr. Somsak Pitaksanurat and Dean Faculty of Public Health UAD, Rosyidah, M. Kes. The other delegations of KKU coming to the signing ceremony were Prof. Dr. Wongsa Laohasiriwong, Prof. Ganjana Nathapindhu, Prof. Dr. Pannee Banchonhattakit, Dr. Ratthappol Kraiklang, and Mrs. Karuna Soroschinda. Beside signing agreement, there was also one day seminar themed “Communicable and Non Communicable disease in Thailand and Indonesia”.
Dean Faculty of Public Health UAD, Rosyidah, M. Kes., when officially opened the ceremony, expected that UAD and KKU would have a good cooperation in the future.
An International Community Engangement Program in Cambodia
/in Event, News /by adminMonday, 19th August 2013, 8 students of Physics Education Study Program UAD officially left UAD to conduct an International Community Engagement Program in Cambodia. They are Bayu Slamet Riyadi, Iqbal Saputra, Suko Fajar, Mentari Cahya Nisa, Fajar Fitriani, Yunita Ayu B.P., Risna Seftiani, and Haryo Zaryando.
This program, cooperated with Musa-Asiah Foundation, Cambodia, will be conducted for about one month, starting from 2oth of August to 30th of September, 2013. They will conduct programs such as teaching Physics, Bahasa Indonesia, Islamic value, Indonesian culture to students at Musa-Asiah Foundation and other Cambodians, teaching how to make a rocket and telescope, sports competition, etc..
Dian Artha Kusumaningtyas, S.Pd.,M.Pd.Si, the head of Physics Education, expected that the students could conduct all programs successfully and this International KKN program could contribute for better relationship between UAD and Musa-Asiah Foundation in the future.
Hundreds Visitors Visit UAD Booth of IHEE at Prince of Songkhla Open Week
/in Event, International Office Activities, News /by adminUAD booth at Indonesian Higher Education Expo (IHEE) in Songkhla looked so crowded by the visitors who came to Prince of Songkhla University (PSU) Convention Center where Prince of Songkla University Open Week: PSU Education Fair held in Hatyai, Thailand. UAD became one of delegations from Indonesia for this expo, held from August 13th to 17th, 2013. The enthusiasm of the visitors to UAD booth can be seen in the first day of exhibition. There were around 85 students came to UAD booth. Most of them were interested to continue their study in Indonesia, especially at Muhammadiyah Higher Education in Yogyakarta. Yasuli Bindulem, the alumnus of UAD who becomes madrasah teacher in Thailand said that high school students in Thailand have a great interest to continue their study abroad, especially in Indonesia. Therefore, he suggests his students to continue their study at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD).
The success of UAD at this expo could not be separated from the alumni and students of UAD who come from Thailand, such as Yasuli Bindulem, MusAb Buenae, and Abdullah Umacheeta who enthusiastically helped UAD to attract visitors to come to our booth. They also became the mouthpiece between UAD and most of visitors who could not speak English.
“I’m proud to introduce UAD to my juniors as the best Muhammadiyah higher education in Yogyakarta to continue their study in Indonesia”, said MusAb Buenae, a 7th semester student of Psychology at UAD.
Besides, at that expo UAD was also helped by its alumni who become teacher at some Muslim schools in Songkhla, such as Anis Asriati, S.S., Fitri Nuryani, S.S, Dwi Puji Lestari, S.Pd., Islakhul Fatayati, S.Pd., Fitri Nurul Hikayat, S.Pd, Islahudin, S.Pd, and Asma Kurniam S.Pd.
Beside participating in this expo, UAD represented by Ida Puspita, M.A as the head of International office of UAD and her staff, Intan Rawit Sapanti, S.Pd. visited Hatyai University and PSU to explore the possibility to cooperate with them. Not so long time ago, some delegations of PSU visited UAD to sign an MoU as the collaboration has been created between UAD and PSU. Then, PSU offered UAD a research collaboration in food processing and business management through collaborative activities. And with Hatyai University, those collaborative activities will be in the field of Business Management.
During the activities in Songkhla, UAD and other delegations of IHEE from Indonesia also visited Consulate General of Indonesia in Songkhla, Thailand. They were welcomed warmly by the representative of Consulate General and the staffs. At that moment, UAD represented by Ida Puspita, M.A expressed the gratitude to Consulate General of Indonesia in Songkhla for the opportunities given to UAD so that UAD could deliver its alumni to be the teachers of English and Arabic at some Muslim schools in Songkhla as the realization of Thai government’s commitment to the program of ASEAN community 2015. UAD and 20 Indonesian Universities Promote Education in Songkhla, South Thailand
/in Event, International Office Activities, News /by adminUniversitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) became one of Indonesian universities that participated in promoting Indonesian education at Indonesian Higher Education Expo (IHEE), held at Prince of Songkhla University, Thailand from August 13 to 17, 2013. This education expo held by the International Affairs Bureau of Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education was participated by 42 delegations from 21 universities in Indonesia. Afriana Ratna Puri as the coordinator of IHEE said that this annual program aims to promote Indonesian higher education abroad, especially people in USA, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. After Yordania and Malaysia, this year Songkhla became the location to held this program because it has a great chance and is potential to promote Indonesian high education there. It can be seen from the enthusiasm of Thai students to continue their study in Indonesia. And UAD as one of destination universities has 25 Thai students who study English, Bahasa Indonesia, Chemical Engineering, Psychology, etc.
In the middle of this program, the committee gave a time to delegations from Indonesia to present and discuss about the information of Indonesian higher education. This education expo activity hopefully would create people to people contact which means local people of Songkhla could directly visit each booth of universities in Indonesia and get a comprehensive information about study programs and other supporting informations. It is possible that the similar activities will be carried out in Songkhla or other locations in South Thailand if there is a greater opportunity. (I/E)
