English Department of FLCC UAD Holds General Lecture on American Studies
Yesterday, English Department of Faculty of Literature, Culture, and Communication (FLCC) of UAD held a general lecture on American Studies at Kampus 2 UAD. Michael G. Vann (Associate Professor, History Department Sarcamento University, USA) was the speaker who presented The Influence of Western Civilization in Islamic Countries. The General Lecture was attended by the students of FLCC UAD and lecturers of UAD. The enthusiasm of participants to this general lecture can be seen by their active participation in the discussion.
Accoring to Tri Rina Budiwati,S.S.,M.Hum. (head of English department of FLCC UAD), this is a routine agenda that is held twice in every semester by FLCC. The speaker is a foreign guest lecturer who may come from partner universities or other universities abroad. This general lecture covers American Studies, Literature, and linguistics. The preparation run well because it is supported by UAD. This general lecture hopefully could increase the academic atmosphere among the students and lecturers because students do not only get knowledge from their lecturers but also from foreign lectures that could enlarge their horizon. Besides, it is also expected to increase the spirit of scientific discussion, to learn another experience from abroad, and to increase the cooperation of UAD. (Ecy)
