International students of UAD Participate in “Solo 24 Jam Menari 2016” to Celebrate World Dance Day
28th April 2016, located at Institute Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta Solo, international students of UAD participated in a yearly event named “Solo 24 Jam Menari 2016”. Solo 24 Jam Menari or Solo 24 Hours Dance is a yearly event that is held to celebrate World Dance Day. In this chance, hundreds representatives of universities, institution, sanggar etc from almost all of part of Indonesia came to participate. They were minutely scheduled to performance traditional dances from Indonesia and other countries.
As one of invited participants, UAD that was represented by three Darmasiswa students, those are Liana Snytsar (Ukraine), Kim Soo Yeon (South Korea), and Li Lening (China) and three students of Joint Degree Program, those are Mo Weiran (a Chinese student from Program Study of Indonesian Literature), Qin Yong and Lan Xinquan (Chinese students from Faculty of Economics) performed Tari Burung Enggang (Enggang Bird Dance). This dance is a symbol of Dayak tribe people, that usually performed in official celebrations like wedding ceremony, etc. Further, it shows power and passion.
Ruslinah (Staff of inbound student in International Office Affairs of UAD) said, “Our students routinely practiced and did their best”.
She added, “We wish when our international students come back to their countries, they do not only introduce Indonesia from their oral language ability but also their first-hand experiences of learning Indonesian culture”.
