Kartini Day in China (A Story from UAD Lecturer at Guangxi University for Nationalities)
Monday, April 21, 2014, Tri Amalia Lestari, M.Pd., a lecturer of UAD who currently teaches Indonesian Language at Guangxi University for Nationalities (GXUN), China, together with her Chinese students at Faculty of International Education, celebrated Kartini Day. The celebration consisted of some activities such as Cerdas Cermat competition, Making Handicraft competition, Singing “Ibu Kita Kartini” song competition, and Indonesian Traditional Clothes Fashion Show competition.
At Cerdas Cermat competition, there were three groups, “Wonder Women”, “Power Girl”, and “Super Woman”. The questions were about Indonesian history including the history of an Indonesian heroin, Kartini. The juries were Sudaryanto, M.Pd., a lecturer of UAD who also currently teaches at GXUN and his wife Jauhratul Farida. Making Handicraft competition was really fun because the participants were male students and they needed to make flower from crept paper. At the end of the celebration, it was chosen a female student as “Miss Kartini 2014”. All students were really happy and enjoyed the celebration. Happy Kartini Day!
