OIA UAD held Socialization of Scholarship Opportunities in the United States
Office of International Affairs, UAD held Socialization of Scholarship Opportunities in the United States on Monday (2/18/2019) in the hall of the Islamic Center, UAD Campus 4. The event presented Muhammad Iqbal from the Embassy of the United States of America. This socialization also presented the Vice Rector IV of UAD, Prof.Drs.Sarbiran, M.Ed., Ph.D., as the alumnus of the United States and Ida Puspita, M.A.Res as the head of OIA UAD. The socialization received good enthusiasm from UAD students and lecturers.
Iqbal explained five things to consider to study in U.S. These five steps included determining the choice of campus and establishing goals, preparing funding, fulfill the requirements of admission, visa and the last is preparation for departure. “Now in U.S campuses provide online admission systems, it will be easier for you to register,” he added.
Iqbal said that the first step to study in the U.S is to find information about the university. ” There are approximately 4500 institutions in the U.S.”. Iqbal further categorized the institutions in the U.S into three, Reach Schools, institutions with the best academic reputation, Realistic Schools, institutions which are with intermediate academic reputation, and Safety Schools, which are institutions as the alternative choice.
In this occasion, Iqbal also introduced EducationUSA as the institution that provides information on the study and scholarships in the United States. EducationUSA also provides education consultations, mentor programs, and scholarship information.
