Rector of UAD signs MoU with Korean Universities
May 25-28, 2015, facilitated by SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization) Regional Open Learning Center (SEAMOLEC), Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum. and Head of International Office, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res., together with 19 delegations of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Diponegoro, STT Telematika Telkom Purwokerto, Sekolah Tinggi Design Bali, STP Sahid, STIKes Dharma Husada, AMIK and College New Media, Poltek Negeri Jember, STIE Mandala Jember, Amik Wahana Mandiri, SMK (Vocational High School) Farmasi Harapan Bersama Tegal, SMK Siang 1 Bojonegoro, and SMK Al Huda Kota Kediri, visited 5 universities in Korea.
The universities were Catholic University of Daegu, Hanbat National University, Sun Moon University, and Sunchon National University. For Jeonju University, the delegations only visited the university but MoU has not been signed yet. Besides discussing and signing MoU, the delegations also visited the campus facilities such as classroom and laboratories. The cooperative activities prioritized for universities are joint degree, dual degree and credit transfer system, while for vocational high schools are to send alumni to work in Korea. However, to study and work in Korea, mastering Korean language is a must. Therefore, to realize the MoU, it needs a serious preparation.
Ida Puspita, M.A.Res, head of International office UAD, stated that to realize the MoU, UAD will cooperate in joint degree program. In 2014, UAD got BFKSI grant (International Cooperation Facility Grant) and initiated joint degree for information engineering study program with Guangxi University for Nationalities, China. This year UAD will propose the same program with Korean university. This proves that UAD seriously realize MoUs that UAD has.
