Two Students of UAD Celebrate Eid Al-Adha 1433H in Thailand
Ika Dwijayani and Damaya Noor Arifin are the students of UAD studying in Thailand with MIT program 2012/2013. This year they have a new experience to celebrate Eid Al-Adha 1433 H abroad. In every muslim’s feast here, the university doesn’t give a holiday to the students. That makes those two students celebrate Eid Adha this year differently. Damaya joins a class of Ethnic Group of Thailand which has a trip for three days to Kanchanaburi, and Ira join the celebration of Eid Adha in Indonesian Embassy. For Damaya, even though she could not do Eid Pray or even listen to the echo of takbir, but she peal the echo of takbir by herself with all her hearts for that saint day. “So sad and so different with the years before, but this is a new experience”, Said Damaya.
Meanwhile Ira at the first day did Eid pray together in Indonesian Embassy and then joined the banquet with Indonesian meals. The second day she visited the mosque near the place she lives and celebrate Eid Adha with Thai Muslim. And the third day, she joined the programs of Ngajikhun (a program of ASEAN Muslim Community). Those were how they celebrate Eid Al-Adha 1433H in Thailand this year. (D/I/E)
