Two Students of UAD Win Mandarin Speech Contest in Guangxi University for Nationality
Al Qurani Jamila, S.S, and Dwi Titi Maesaroh, S.Pd were two great students of UAD and now they are studying Mandarin in Guangxi University for Nationalities with scholarship from UAD. They just become the winner in Mandarin speaking contest held by Faculty of International Education, Guangxi University for Nationalities. Al Qurani Jamila, S.S. known as Mila become the runner up and Dwi Titi Maesaroh, S.Pd. known as Dwi become the second runner up.
The final round of this Mandarin speaking contest for foreign students was held on November 16, 2012 in student center building 大学生活动中心楼 (Daxue sheng huo dong zhong xin lou) from 19.00-22.00 (time of China). This is an annual program and this year is the 5th Mandarin speaking contest participated by foreign students from Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea. Cambodia, Japan, Romania, etc. Two weeks before, there was a qualification round, from 50 participants only 22 participants could go to final round. In final round 22 participants were divided into three levels of learning, such as basic, intermediate, and advanced. All participants showed their mandarin speaking ability in variety performance, such as telling fairy tale, experience of studying in China, feast day, their culture and traditional foods, etc. This lively program was attended by 150 audiences consist of lecturers, foreign students, and Chinese students. In this contest, Mila and Dwi never imagine that they could be the winner, because they participated this contest just because they wanted to introduce Indonesia. But then, when their names were mentioned to be the winner, they are really happy. (E/M/D)
