Faculty of Teacher Training and Education: Seminar on “Code of Ethics For Teachers: A Comparation Between Indonesia-Philippines”
Tuesday, October 7, 2014, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education UAD in collaboration with University of Saint Anthony (USANT), Philippines, held a seminar on “Code of Ethics For Teachers: A Comparison Between Indonesia-Philippines” at campus II UAD. Officially opened by Vice Rector IV UAD, Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., this seminar was attended by lecturers and students of UAD especially from Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., welcomed Dr. Dominggo R Ortega, Vice President For Academic Affairs USANT and Dr. Arlene O. Monsalve, Dean, College of Education USANT, who were also speakers of the seminar.
Dr. Sugito, M.Sc., a speaker from UAD explained some reasons why the implementation of code of ethics often meet many obstacles, while Dr. Arlene O. Monsalve explained some criteria of Professional Teachers: (1) Manage themselves well;(2) Are committed to the school and to a purpose, principle, or person outside themselves; (3) Build their competence and focus their efforts for maximum impact; (4) Are courageous, honest, and credible; and (5) Are persons of integrity, simplicity and humility.
