International Students of UAD 2014 at the Opening Ceremony of Orientation Program for New Students
Tuesday, August 26, 2014, new international students of UAD 2014 together with more than 4000 local students attended the opening ceremony of orientation program for new students. This new academic year, UAD accepted more than 170 new international students, so UAD now has more than 200 active international students in total for this year. The international students come from many countries such as China, Thailand, Timor Leste, Philippines, Vietnam, Poland, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Romania, Egypt and India. Also attending the opening ceremony were Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., Vice Rectors, Deans, Vice Deans, Head of Offices, and lecturers.
Marwah Daud Ibrahim, a legislative member of Indonesia who were invited by UAD to give keynote speech to the new students, motivated the new students to have dreams and reach them. She also explained the power of planning, how planning is very important in reaching what we dream. Even though many international students have not been able to understand Indonesian language very well, they enjoyed the opening ceremony. Wang Yan from China and Affan Saifulislam from Thailand represented all international students came to the stage and received the university’s suit given by Rector of UAD.
