UAD Welcomed Representatives from Australian Catholic University (ACU), Australia
Yogyakarta, November 26, 2024 — Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) welcomed a delegation from the Australian Catholic University (ACU), Australia, as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation. The ACU delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Abid Khan (Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise), alongside Prof. Dr. Michael Champion, Prof. Dr. Richard Colledge, Dr. Michelle Lopez, and Dr. George Iwan Marantika, was warmly received by the leadership, faculty, and staff of UAD.
Present at the meeting were the Rector of UAD, Prof. Muchlas, M.T., accompanied by the Vice Rectors: Dr. Nur Kholis, S.Ag., M.Ag. (for Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah Affairs), Prof. Ir. Sunardi, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (for Academic Affairs), Dr. Norma Sari, S.H., M.Hum. (for Human Resources), Dr. Gatot Sugiharto, S.H., M.H. (for Student Affairs and Alumni), and the Head of the International Cooperation Division, Afit Istiandaru, S.Pd., M.Pd.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential collaboration in research and student mobility programs. In his opening remarks, Prof. Muchlas expressed hope that this cooperation would open up opportunities for the internationalization of education at UAD.
During the discussion session, UAD introduced its leading academic programs at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. These programs are expected to attract interest in research collaboration and student exchange between the two universities. “We believe this partnership will bring great benefits, especially in enhancing the global competitiveness of both our students and faculty,” said Dr. Gatot Sugiharto.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a souvenir from UAD to the ACU delegation as a symbol of friendship. The delegation was also invited to visit the Muhammadiyah Museum to learn more about the history and vision of UAD as a university grounded in modern Islamic values. With this spirit of collaboration, it is hoped that the relationship between UAD and ACU will continue to grow stronger and produce positive impacts for both institutions.
