UAD’s international students showcase their Indonesian language skills at the International BIPA Forum 2025
Yogyakarta, 15 October 2025 – Six international students from Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) once again demonstrated their exceptional abilities in the International Discussion Forum for Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA), themed “Bahasa Indonesia Berdaulat, Indonesia Maju”, organized by the Language Center of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).
This event was part of the 2025 Language and Literature Month series and brought together foreign students from various countries to engage in discussions using the Indonesian language. Through this forum, participants exchanged ideas across multiple fields such as education, socio-culture, and technology, while also strengthening Indonesia’s cultural diplomacy on the global stage.
In the event, six international students from UAD actively participated and demonstrated strong Indonesian language skills. They were, Mohamed Yusuf Wako (Master of Physics Education, Kenya), Afandee Bensulong (English Education, Thailand), Li Yujing (Indonesian Literature, China), Muhammad Hezam Alghadr (Informatics, Yemen) Dania Elsadig Ibrahim Elhag (Information Systems, Sudan), Abdulsamad Musa Babuga (Vocational Education in Electronics Engineering, Nigeria)
Among the six students, Afandee Bensulong won the award for the best Indonesian speaker at the forum. With his fluency and confident delivery, Afandee captivated both participants and judges, bringing great pride to Ahmad Dahlan University.
The involvement of UAD’s international students in this event is a testament to the university’s success in guiding and supporting foreign students—not only academically but also in their understanding of Indonesian language and culture.
Through their active participation, UAD continues to demonstrate its commitment to promoting campus internationalization grounded in Indonesian cultural and linguistic values. UAD’s international students serve as young ambassadors who introduce the beauty of Indonesia to the world, in line with the spirit of “Bahasa Indonesia Berdaulat, Indonesia Maju.”
