Medley Indonesian Traditional Songs by Darmasiswa UAD
Last night, the opening of “Program Pembekalan Kepulangan Mahasiswa Darmasiswa Tahun Akademik 2012/2013 Angkatan XIII” was closed amazingly by the performance of Darmasiswa students of UAD. The nine darmasiswa students, Ahmed Basyouni Abdelhay Youssef (from Egypt), Ni Peishi, Pan Liuna, Zhao Zimei, Su Qi, Liu Xianhe, Wei Liuhua (from China), Sainah Asae, and Fatimah Jehma (from Thailand) sang medley Indonesian traditional Songs (Lagu Daerah Indonesia) beautifully at Ballroom of UNY Hotel. They sang Bungong Jeumpa (Aceh), Jali-Jali (Jakarta), Gundul-Gundul Pacul (Central Java), Janger (Bali), and Sik Sik Sibatumanikam (North Sumatera) in Indonesian traditional costumes.
“We were really excited singing Indonesian traditional songs right there. We didn’t feel nervous at that time. All we can feel were just excited and confident that we can perform our best performance and make people proud”, Said Fatimah and Saeinah. (Eci)
