Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Educations Strengthen Internationalization Through Office of International Affairs Workshop
Saturday-Monday, June 13-14, 2015, Directorate of Higher Education of Muhammadiyah Central Assembly cooperated with Universitas Ahmad Dahlan held an Office of International Affairs Workshop to strengthen Internationalization of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education. Held in Arjuna Hotel Yogyakarta, the workshop was attended by 67 participants coming from 51 Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Educations from Aceh to Papua.
Officially opened by Prof. Edy Suandi Hamid, Vice Director of Directorate of Higher Education of Muhammadiyah Central Assembly, the participants enthusiastically attended the workshop and questioned the invited speakers. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Illah Sailah, Director of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate of Higher Education, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, Republic of Indonesia, socializing the KKNI (Indonesian National Qualification Framework) and Education Level Equality in ASEAN (based on internationally recognized curriculum). After the keynote speech, there were two roundtable sessions discussing ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance, Internationalization at Home, Developing English Program for Higher Education and Sharing Best Practice of ESP in UMM. Besides, all participants were also divided into three groups led by OIA Forum of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education discussing several topics related to international student program such as International Student Contract, Hospitality, BIPA curriculum, etc.
Last but not least, there was also election for the Leader and Vice Leader of OIA Forum of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Education 2015/2016. As the vice leader in the previous period, UAD was elected to be the Leader and Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta was elected to be Vice Leader of OIA Forum of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Education 2015/2016. It wae expected that the new committee will create good programs to improve the internationalization program for Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Education.
