Teacher Seminar and Workshop on “Building Children’s Positive Character through Enjoyable, Healthy and Children-Friendly School” (Learning from Schools in Australia)
Saturday-Monday, September 20-21, 2014, Guidance and Counseling, Early Childhood Teacher Education, Primary School Teacher Education study programs, and Office of International Affairs Universitas Ahmad Dahlan in cooperation with Perhimpunan Indonesia Belajar (PIB) held Seminar and Workshop on “Building Children’s Positive Character through Enjoyable, Healthy and Children-Friendly School” (Learning from Schools in Australia) at campus II UAD. The seminar and workshop was officially opened by Vice Rector I UAD, Dr. Muchlas, M.T., and also attended by Brett Steven, Commissioner to Indonesia, Education Services, Victoria Government, Australia.
At the first day of Seminar and Workshop, there were some speakers presenting. They were Prof. Suyata, Ph.D., Dr. Susanto from KPAI (Komisi Perlindungan Anak Indonesia), Muhammad Nur Rizal, Ph.D. and Novi Chandra, M.Psi. (PIB), Kenneth Luke Chatterton and Josephine Burt (Clayton North Primary School). The first day seminar was divided into two sessions. The first session was moderated by Iyan Sofiyan, S.Pd., M.A., and the second was by Dwi Santoso, M.Hum.
The participants of the seminar and workshop were primary and kindergarten school teachers especially from UAD Lab schools and Muhammadiyah Schools. They enthusiastically attended the seminar and workshop because all speakers presented very interesting topics and engaged them with activities, especially Ken and Josie who invited them to pretend as primary school students. Out of two day-seminar and workshop, Ken and Josie also visited some UAD Lab Schools in Yogyakarta.
