A Darmasiswa Student of UAD Performs at Bizarre on Stage #2
Yesterday, Ahmed Basyuni, a darmasiswa student of UAD form Egypt, performed at Bizarre on Stage #2. He performed a comedy by himself on stage. For that performance, he just practiced 5 times since January 2013. The creative idea of his performance was come from himself and then he collaborated with Hernandes Saranela, the festival director of this event. Ahmed was really excited for the chance to participate in that event. He really likes acting and he often performs his talent of acting in Egypt.
Bizarre on Stage #2 was part of the Art Invasion World Performing Art event held by Theater Department of Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta. This Art Invasion World Performing Art consisted of three programs: Study Layar Tancap (Layar Tancap Study) on February 14th, Performance Study on February 15th, and Bizarre on Stage #2 on February 16th and 17th, at 7pm on auditorium of Theater Department, ISI Yogyakarta. Beside Ahmed from Egypt, there were many artists from all over the world: Austria, Poland, Germany, Spain, Indonesia, South Africa, USA, Japan, Slovakia, Estonia, Hungary, Chili, Lithuania, Iran, Mexico, Russia, Romania, and Serbia. This event was free and for public. There were performances, video screening, fine art, and photography exhibition. This was a kind of bizarre, unpredictable, and surprising festival.
Through Bizarre on Stage #2, all artists tried to show bizarre reality, took things out of their natural context, and broke the scheme. Ahmed was one of the artist who tried to show the anomalies in daily life that most people take something proper and sometimes out of line, consciousness. He composed the comedy creatively so it became an interesting and fun performance on stage. (Eci)
