UAD Welcomed Sea-Teacher Students from Two Partner Universities in the Philippines
On the 4th of September Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of UAD welcomed 9 students from the University of Saint Anthony (USANT) and the Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST), the Philippines under the Sea-Teacher Program.
Sea Teacher or Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia gives opportunities to university students of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) to practice teaching at overseas schools for a month. Three students from USANT and six students from ISUFST were scheduled to teach at partner schools of UAD in Yogyakarta. Trixia May O. Elevado, and Mary Joy E. Gepitulan from USANT teach at SMP Muhammadiyah Sewon. Edward Paul D. Castro (USANT) and Chlyredth B. Casaldan (ISUFST) teach at SMP Muhammadiyah Unggulan Aisyah. Julius B. Maglasang and Kristoffer Rhys H. Grabato from ISUFST teach at SMP Muhammadiyah Bantul. Angel Faith A. Sojon and Kate Concepcion C. Benagua from ISUFST teach at SD Unggulan Aisyah, and Sheena Marie S. Detore (ISUFST) teach at SD Muhammadiyah Bantul.
This program was the second batch of offline Sea Teachers this year, in May UAD also welcomed four students from the Capiz State University (CAPSU), the Philippines. They had teaching experiences at SD Muhammadiyah Karangkajen, dan SMP Muhammadiyah. On 12 August, UAD sent ten students of FKIP to gain overseas teaching experiences at CAPSU, ISUFT, and West Virginia University of the Philippines, and at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (VRU), Thailand.
During the welcoming ceremony, Rusydi Umar, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Vice Rector of Academic Affairs), Muhammad Sayuti, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.Ed., Ph.D. (Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education), dan Dr. Sunny (Dean of Faulty of Education of ISUFST ) officially delivered their support on this program. Furthermore, both deans signed an MoA between the two faculties. Dr. Ani Susanti, M.Pd.B.I. (Vice-dean for Human Resources, Finance, Property, and General Administration), Ulaya Ahdiani, S.S., Hum. (Head of Ahmad Dahlan Global Engagement), ), Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. (Head of International Cooperation Partnership), representative of UAD’s partner schools, head of study programs, international office staff, and the students.
