Bannrodfai School and Witthayapanya school, Thailand, Visit Two UAD Lab Schools

Thursday, October 16, 2014, Delegations of Bannrodfai School and Witthayapanya school, Thailand, Visit Two UAD Lab Schools, SD Muhammadiyah Condongcatur dan SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok, Yogyakarta. The delegations were Mrs. Nusara Sungo, Principal of Bannrodfai school, Mr. Nipon Sungo, Vice Principal of Bannrodfai school, Mr. Yusuf Sungo, Executive Director of Witthayapanya school, and teachers from two schools. The delegations were welcomed by the principals and teachers at each school, even at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok they were welcomed by traditional dance.

A day before, the two Thailand schools have signed MoU with UAD at campus I. As one of MoU realization, UAD facilitate the Thailand schools to make cooperation with UAD Lab schools in Yogyakarta. During the visit, the schools shared experiences and information in running the school’s programs.

International Conference and Talkshow on “Multi Culture Education”

Wednesday, March 26, 2014, Center for School Quality Development Study UAD, held an International Conference and Talkshow on “Multi Culture Education” at the Meeting Room of Campus I UAD. This event was one of Sister School Program between SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok (one of UAD Lab Schools) and two schools from Malaysia, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pulau Nyior, and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Bukit Kayu Hitam.

Officially opened by Vice Rector IV UAD, Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., this International Conference and Talkshow was divided into two presentation sessions. The presenters presented their papers in the first session were Wakhid Effendi, S.Pd., the Principal of SMP Muh. 3 Depok as the representative from Indonesia, Hj. Siti Aminah, from Malaysia, and Jehanie May Macasawang from the Philippines. Mean while in the second session, there were Yashnar Sagdullayev from Uzbekistan, Tejas Yambem from India, and Luo Mi from China. Each presenter, coming from different countries in Asia, presented the education in their countries. After each session, the participants consisting of lecturers, school principals and teachers, university students, asked questions to the presenters. All participants were really enthusiastic to know more about the education from each country presented.

Delegations of Five Schools from Malaysia Visit UAD as One of Sister Programs with SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok

Vice Rector IV UAD, Prof. Sarbiran, Welcomes the Principal

Tuesday, March 25, 2014, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pulau Nyior, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Bukit Kayu Hitam, and 3 other schools from malaysia visited UAD as one of Sister School Program between SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok (one of UAD Lab Schools) and some Malaysian schools. 21 delegations consisting of 9 teachers and 12 students from Malaysia visited campus I UAD to conduct cooperation activities with UAD and UAD Lab schools.

Coming to welcome the delegations were Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., Vice Rector IV, Dr. Muchlas, MT, Vice Rector I, Drs. Muhammad Safar Nasir M.Si, Vice Rector II, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res., Head of Office of International Affairs, Dr. Widodo, M.Si., Head of Center of Research and Development and Moh. Joko Susilo, M.Pd., Head of Center for School Quality Development Study. At the meeting, there were also Robotic performance from UAD Robotic team, Faculty of Industrial Technology and Water Rocket performance from Physics Education Team, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education.

Again, 4 Students of Monash University, Australia, Visit UAD

The Monash Students Learn to Play Gamelan at UAD

Thursday-Saturday, February 6-9, 2014, four students of Monash University, Australia, William, Jacob, Max and Jacinta, conducted some activities with UAD. The four students currently study Indonesian language and linguistics in their country and intentionally visited Indonesia and UAD to study more about Indonesian language and culture.

On Thursday, they visit campus I of UAD, then learned to play Angklung, Gamelan, and dance Saman. On Friday, the staff of International Office took them to two UAD Lab Schools, SD Muhammadiyah Sidoarum and SMP Muhamamdiyah 2 Depok. At school, they played games to study English with students, even played football. They were really happy to study and played with children. On Saturday, they were taken to some cultural sites in Yogyakarta such as Borobudur and Prambanan Temple. They enjoyed all activities and thank UAD for warmly welcoming them.
