Intan Dwi Isparulita, A Student of Chemical Engineering Got An Outstanding Presentation Award in The 1st International Engineering Student Forum 2015

Intan Dwi Isparulita, a student of Chemical Engineering Faculty of Industrial Technology UAD, got an Outstanding Presentation Award in The 1st International Engineering Student Forum (IENS 2015) held on March 4-9, 2015 yang lalu di Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University (KKU) Thailand.
“Having a chance to be a participant of IENS 2015 and got an Outstanding Presentation Award was a priceless experience for me. This event was participated by a lot of universities in Asia such as UNTAG Surabaya (Indonesia), Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (Indonesia). National Kaohsiung Marine University (Taiwan), Nagaoka University of Technology (Japan), National University of Laos (Laos) and Khon Kaen University (Thailand). I was in Thailand from 4 to 9 March 2015 and I presented my poster on March 7, 2015. There were about 78 poster in 4 different topics. My poster was categorized in smart material and intelligent Technology entitled adalah Synthesis Japanese Crystal Algae to Reduce Obesity.” Said Intan.
Faculty of Law UAD Holds a General Lecture with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuarrual Hilal MD. Dahlan from Universiti Utara Malaysia
/in Event, News/by adminMonday, March 16, 2015, Faculty of Law UAD held a general lecture with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuarrual Hilal MD. Dahlan, President of Academic Staff Association, Universiti Utara Malaysia. Themed on Islambay’ Bithaman Al-Ajil (BBA) Property Funding: Concept, Issue, and The Implementation in Malaysia, this general lecture was held in meeting room campus II UAD and participated by about 80 participants consisting of lecturers and students of UAD.
Beside Dr. Nuarrual Hilal, there were also 3 other delegations from Academic Staff Association (PERSATU) Universiti Utara Malaysia who visited Faculty of Law UAD. The delegations were welcomed by Vice Rector IV UAD, Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., Dean of Faculty of Law, Rahmad Muhadjir Nugroho, S.H., M.H., Head of Law Study Program, Wita Setyaningrum, S.H., LL.M., Head of Law Laboratory, Norma Sari, S.H., M.Hum., and other lecturers. Further, UUM delegations and Faculty of Law UAD also discussed the cooperative activities to realize MoU between UAD and UUM that has signed since 2009 and now is in extension process.
Joint Cultural Performance UAD Indonesia – SUT Thailand
/in Event, News/by admin Saturday, March 7, 2015, UAD in collaboration with Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand held a Joint Cultural Performance, Intercultural Exchange Thailand-Indonesia. Held in auditorium campus III UAD, this event was opened by Vice Rector III UAD, Dr. Abdul Fadlil, M.T. The delegations of SUT were Dr. Sirinthorn Seepho (Assistant Rector for Student Affairs), Chief of Sports and Health Center, Chief of Division of Student Affairs, Head and two staff from Cultural Preservation
There were a lot of awesome performances in the event. There were Medley Indonesia Regional Songs by Thailand students of UAD, Parrot dances by Student Dance Community UAD, Saman dance by Chinese Students of UAD, Tor-tor dance by Darmasiswa students of UAD, dances from 4 Thailand regions and Northeastern live band by SUT students, and the last performance was Bendera song by Thailand students of UAD. UAD and SUT has signed MoU since February 2014 and this event was one of MoU realization between the two universities.
Chinese Students of UAD Performed “Barongsai” at Pekan Budaya Tionghoa Yogyakarta (PBTY)
/in Event, News/by adminCelebrating the Lunar New Year of 2566 (IMLEK) and Cap Go Meh, some Chinese Students of UAD together with Hoo Hap Hwee Community Yogyakarta performed “Barongsai” at the Opening of Pekan Budaya Tionghoa Yogyakarta X (PBTY) (Tenth Chinese Cultural Week) at Ketandan Chinatown Malioboro, March 1, 2015. The Hoo Hap Hwee Barongsai team were the first team among 15 other Barongsai teams in the parade line.
The students of UAD who joined the performance were Qin Futai, Wang Gefan, Lu Shunbo, Zhang Zihao, Yan Xin, He Jinmeng, Fu Yan, Zhang Xinxin, Jiang Jiguang, Chen Changhua, and Li Kunpeng. The 11 Chinese students currently study at Management, Development Economics and Indonesian Literature at UAD. Together with about 30 members of Hoo Hap Hwee Community Yogyakarta, they practiced to play “Barongsai” twice a week for two months from January.
Qin Futai (Mario) expressed his happiness to experience celebrating New Year in Indonesia especially in Yogyakarta. Even though he could be with his family in China in this New Year, he was not sad at all. He feels that Chinese descendants, especially the youths, in Indonesia, learn and preserve Chinese culture better than original Chinese in China. The Chinese Cultural Week this year carries the theme “Knitting together Cultures, Creating Unity” (Merajut Budaya, Merenda kebersamaan), reflecting the wide diversity of cultures that exist both in China as in Indonesia.
UAD Discusses MoU with The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)

The delegations from ICRC were Andrew Batlest Smith and Zezen Zainal Muttaqqin. The delegations were welcomed by and had a discussion with Rector of UAD, Dr. Kasiyarno, M.Hum., Vice Rector IV, Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Dean of Law Faculty, Dean of Public Health Faculty, Dean of Psychology Faculty, Head of Civics Education Study Program, Head of Law Study Program, Head of Public Health Study Program, Head of Psychology Study Program, Head of Center for Environment and Disaster Management UAD, a delegation from Red Cross Yogyakarta, Supervisor of KSR-PMI UAD, Head of KSR-PMI UAD, a lecturer of Guidance and Counseling study program. During the meeting, UAD and ICRC discussed the potential programs to cooperate such as training on humanitarian law, training and competition on moot court, etc.

Coming to welcome and have discussion with the KKU delegations were Vice Rector III UAD, Dr. Abdul Fadlil, M.T., Vice Rector IV UAD, Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., Deans of Faculty and staff of International Office. UAD and KKU have signed MoU since 2014 and the KKU delegations visited UAD to discuss the cooperation realization between the two universities.
Five Darmasiswa Students of UAD finished their Community Program
/in Event, News/by adminAfter three weeks conducting Community Program in Klaten, five Darmasiswa Students of UAD finished their activities and were really sad to leave the students and teachers at schools. Anastasiia Dmytruk and Asiia Mukhametalina from Ukraine, Phuong Uyen and Truong Thanh Thao from Vietnam, and Geeta Kumari Meena from India, have involved in a lot of activities teaching foreign language (English, Hindi Language, Russian language, Vietnamese), dance, games, songs, handicraft, etc at SD Muhammadiyah Bayat, SD Muhammadiyah Gantiwarno, and SDIT Muhammadiyah Cawas, and village near their homestay.
This program is really beneficial for the Darmasiswa students. Besides giving Darmasiswa students a chance to involve in the community, this program have also given them a chance to practice and improve their Indonesian language and understand more about Indonesian custom and culture. The Darmasiswa students were also lucky because besides involving them in the schools’ activities, the schools also took them to Batik Home Industry, Gerabah home industry, and some tourism objects. When they came back to Jogja, they proudly showed Batik and Gerabah they made themselves.
Three Directors of Schools from Thailand Visit UAD and discussed Further Cooperations
/in Event, News/by adminThursday, January 22, 2015, three directors of schools in Thailand, Songserm Wittaya Muslim School, Songserm Sasana School, and Suksasat School, visited campus I UAD. They were Krosunlee Benkoob, Kobeth Lemnoo, and Hareb Benkoob. Songserm Wittaya Muslim School and Suksasat School have signed MoU with UAD last year, while Songserm Sasana School visited UAD because it also wants to have cooperation with UAD.
Suksasat school, which currently has two alumni of UAD teaching there, this year, again, requests two alumni of UAD to teach English. Suksasat school and other schools also expect UAD could help them to have MoU with Muhammadiyah schools in Yogyakarta. They also want to hold a workshop for teachers and send their alumni to study at UAD. Suksasat school sends documents of three alumni who have just graduated to study at UAD. UAD will also give scholarship to one student from each school which has MoU with UAD.
Universitas Slamet Riyadi, Solo, Visit UAD to have a Comparative Study with Office of International Affairs
/in Event, News/by adminThursday, January 15, 2015, 9 delegations of Universitas Slamet Riyadi (Unisri), Solo visited UAD and have a Comparative Study with Office of International Affairs. One of the delegations was Vice Rector III Unisri and others were heads of bureaus and lecturers. The delegations were welcomed by Vice Rector IV UAD, Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., Head of International Office, Ida Puspita, M.A.Res., and OIA staff.
Unisri delegations explained that right now they have no Office of International Affairs yet and they plan to have OIA immediately. Therefore, they want to learn from UAD. UAD is an internationally recognized university that has a lot of international partners and a private university with biggest number of international students.
