National Forum of International Office Affair of Muhammadiyah/Aisyiyah Higher Education Conducts National Workshop
Located at Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya, 27st-29st November 2015. Drs. H. Bulkani, M.Pd. (Rector of UM Palangkaraya) officially opened the three days workshop on Internationalization of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education. This event is conducted by Directorate of Higher Education of Muhammadiyah Central Assembly cooperated with National Forum of International Office of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education and Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya.
This event has been conducted since 2010 at UHAMKA, then in 2011 the same event was held at UMM and UMS, in 2012 at UM Surabaya, in 2013 at UM Palembang. In 2015, this event was held for twice, at UAD on May and at UM Palangkaraya in November.
In this chance, two keynote speakers were invited. There are Purwanto Subroto, Ph.D (Chief of Subdirectory of Inter-Institution Cooperation of DIKTI) and Prof. John Lee (President of Kyung Dong University, South of Korea). Purwanto Subroto, Ph.D discussed “Penyusunan naskah akademik kerjasama PT dan implikasinya terhadap pemeringkatan perguruan tinggi”. “Penyusunan naskah akademik kerjasama PT dan implikasinya terhadap pemeringkatan perguruan tinggi” discussed, “Possible Collaborative activities between universities in Indonesia and South Korea”. In Addition, there are five speakers from Muhammadiyah Universities were invited. They come from UMM, UAD, UMS, UMY and UM Makasar. All of them delivered international program those have been running in their universities.
More than 50 participants from Muhammadiyah/Aisyiyah Higher Education from all part of Indonesia participated in this event. They actively asked questions and gave comments.
Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. (Director of International Office of UAD and also the head of National Forum of International Office of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education) gave presentation on “International Community Engagement”. As it is widely known, UAD has experiences in Joint International Community Engagement in some countries such as Thailand, Philippines, Egypt etc.
Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. said, “I hopes that this event becomes media of sharing best practice from Muhammadiyah universities those already have good international qualities with Muhammadiyah universities those have just started to build international office. Moreover, Internationalization in PTM/PTA can lead strong cooperation among Muhammadiyah/Aisyiyah Higher education itself”.
