GXMU and UAD sign MOU

Monday, 21st of December 2015. Six representatives from GuagXi Medical University (GXMU) visited Campus 1 of UAD. They are Professor. Qiu Xiaoqiang (Party Secretary of GXMU), Professor. Zeng Zhiyu (Director of the First Affiliated Hospital of GXMU) , Professor. Luo Ping(Vice Dean of School of Stomatology of GXMU), Professor. Li Yi’ang (Director of Students’ Affairs of GXMU), Professor. Tang Zhong (Director of Information Center of GXMU), and Ms.Xie Li (Lecturer of School of International Education of GXMU). They were warmly welcomed by Dr. H. Kasiyarno, M.Hum (Rector of UAD), Dr. H. Muchlas, M.T. (Vice Rector I of UAD), Dr. Abdul Fadlil, M.T. (Vice Rector III of UAD), Prof. Dr. Sarbiran (Vice Rector VI of UAD), some representatives of Deans and International Office Affairs Staff.

In this opportunity, representative of GXMU visited UAD to extend cooperation that has been conducting for five years. To lead the next cooperation, Dr. H. Kasiyarno,M.Hum. (Rector of UAD) and Professor. Qiu Xiaoqiang (Party Secretary of GXMU) signed MOU.

In addition, all of the representative of GXMU and Dr. Nurkhasanah Apt. M.Si. (representative of Faculty of Pharmacy of UAD), Prof. Dr. Achmad Mursyidi, M.Sc., Apt. (Director of Graduate Program of UAD), Kintoko, S.F., M.Sc. Apt. (representative of Faculty of Pharmacy of UAD , he got scholarship and graduated from GXMU year ago)and Dr. Nurul Qomariyah (Faculty of Public Health) discussed possible cooperation between two parties. Such as exchange lecturers and students, joint research and joint seminars. In the last speech Professor. Qiu Xiaoqiang offers scholarship to one of Young Lecturer in UAD to have doctor program at GXMU.

“I am very glad to have great opportunity to visit UAD. UAD treats us like a family. Yes, we are already Family” Said Professor. Qiu Xiaoqiang.

He added, “The first step to realize our five years cooperation, we are going to send our experts to join seminar in UAD. Besides that, we also offer scholarship to one of young lecturers from UAD to take doctor program in Faculty of Public Health of GXMU”.

85 Universities Participate in A Workshop on Academic Mobility Program for Students Conducted by UAD

85 Universities participate in a Workshop conducted by UAD

To expand international cooperation of Indonesian universities, Indonesian government through State Ministry of Research and Technology (KEMENRISTEK DIKTI) gives government donation namely HIBAH PKKUI. There are several activities should be fulfilled to complete this program, one of them is WORKSHOP.
UAD has accepted HIBAH PKKUI for third times and this year UAD becomes one of 80 universities in Indonesia which receive HIBAH PKKUI. In this occasion, UAD held workshop on “Academic Mobility Program for Students”. Three keynote speakers were invited, they are Purwanto Subroto, Ph.D (Chief of Subdirectory of Inter-Institution Cooperation of DIKTI) discussed “The Internationalization of Indonesian Higher Education Institutions through Academic Mobility Programs for Students”. Dr.Ir. Edwan Kardena, (Director of International Office ITB) discussed “Academic Mobility Programs for Students”. Moreover, Elena Williams (Resident Director of ACICIS) talked about “Students Mobility Programs Through ACICIS”.
Additionally, in sharing session Rai Rake Setiawan, S.E.,G.D.Bus.,M.S.A. (Head of International Program of Faculty of Economy of UAD) Ulaya Ahdiani, M.Hum (Vice Dean of faculty of Communication and Letters of UAD) , and Dian Artha Kusumaningtyas, M.Pd (Head of Physics Education Study Program of UAD) shared International activity programs such as joint degree, credit semester, and Community Service Program (KKN)
Locating at Griya Kresna of Hotel Santika, this event was joined by 85 universities from almost all of part of Indonesia. The event was officially opened by Dr. H. Kasiyarno, M.Hum (Rector of UAD). Besides, this event also attended by Prof. Dr. Sarbiran (Vice Rector VI of UAD) and Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. (Director of Office of International Affairs (OIA) UAD).
Ida Puspita, M.A.Res hopes that this event initiates sharing best practice on International Students Mobility Programs in UAD and lead to new cooperations in managing foreign student’s mobility activity with higher education nationally and internationally. In addition, UAD as one of qualified universities is expected to be able to compete with other universities internationally.

Delegations of SNG meet Rector and Vice Rector 4 of UAD

On Thursday, 12nd November 2015, UAD was visited by three guests from Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute, Tokyo, Japan. They are Ezoe Takahide (The Headmaster of SNG), Mori Kyoko (Vice Principal of SNG), and Nakaie Moeko (A Staff of SNG).

In this chance, all delegations met Prof. Sarbiran (Vice Rector 4 of UAD) and Staff of International Office Affair of UAD to discuss further cooperation between UAD and SNG such as providing Japanese Language class for UAD students.
In addition, located at Ruang Sidang Utama, Ezoe Takahide delivered general lecture on Japanese Language based on Ezoe Teaching Method. Then, the general lecture was continued by Mori Kyoko about Japanese Tea Ceremony. These general lectures attended by 30 students from almost all faculties in Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.
All the participants actively participated these events, some of them enthusiastically asked questions.

International Student Team of UAD Wins the Silver Medal in International Student Summit 2015

International student team of UAD consist of Liana Snitzar (Ukraine), Ali Abdulraoof Taha Al-Maktari (Yemen) and Feng Yangming (China) got silver medal in “Promosi Indonesia video competition” of 4th International Student Summit 2015

16^th -18^th November 2015, located at Univesitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), international students team of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan won the second place on “Promosi Indonesia Video Competition” in International Student Summit 2015. This event was held by State Ministry of Research and Technology of Indonesia and UMM. Team of UAD consist of Liana Snytzar (Ukraine), Ali Abdulraoof Taha Al-Maktari (Yemen) and Feng Yangming (China). This event is an annual event which is participated by almost all of universities in Java Island.

In this chance, one of the competitions was video making titled “Promosi Indonesia”. There are three big themes are provided, those are tourism in Indonesian, Indonesian culture, and Indonesian language. UAD made video about Indonesian culture titled “Jogja Sangat Istimewa” and took location around Yogyakarta such as Keraton, Malioboro and Makam Raja Kotagede. This video won the second place.

“We didn’t expect to win the competition, because we do not have much time to prepare anything. We only spent a log day under hard rain to make this video, however since all the team did all out we could finish on time. In addition, winning this competition is like special grant for us” Said Ruslinah (A staff of international office UAD)

She added, “Nothing is impossible, thank you all. Yes we did”.

UAD Signs MOA with Sun Moon University of South of Korea

Dr. Muchlas, M.T. (Vice Rector 1 of UAD), Dr. Dwi Sulisworo (Vice director of Post Graduates Programs of UAD) and Dr. Trikinasih Handayani, M.Si, (Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of UAD) and other representatives from 3 of Indonesian Universities visited 5 universities in South of Korea

26th-31st of October 2015, Dr. Muchlas, M.T. (Vice Rector 1 of UAD), Dr. Dwi Sulisworo (Vice director of Post Graduates Programs of UAD) and Dr. Trikinasih Handayani, M.Si, (Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of UAD) and other representatives from 3 of Indonesian Universities visited 5 universities in South of Korea. Those universities are Daegu University, Sun Moon University, Dongseo University, Yeungnam University and Keimyung University.

One of those universities, that is Sun Moon University, has signed MOU with UAD. In this chance, UAD was friendly welcomed by some Professors, Director and Staffs of International Office of Sun Moon University. They discussed further cooperation between UAD and Sun Moon University. In addition, they also signed MOA to realize some activities in the closed times. Sun Moon University also facilitated all delegations to visit Hyundai Company, one of the biggest companies in South of Korea.

In 4 other universities, all delegations are also welcomely accepted. In this chance, they discussed possible cooperation that they can conduct in future closed times such as undergraduate program with Daegu University, Robotic with Dongseo University, technology with Yeungnam University, etc.

Dr. Trikinasih Handayani, M.Si said ” We wish that our visit to some of South of Korean Universities can realize academic activities between us in the short future time”.

Delegations of UAD Visit GuagXi University for Nationalities and XiangShiHu College, China.

18-21 October 2015, Drs.Salamatun Asakdiyah, M.Si. (Dean of Economics Faculty), Rai Rake Setyawan,S.E.,GD.BUS.,M.S.A. (Head of Economics International Class) and Indah Kurniyawati,S.E.M.Si. (Lecturer of Economics Faculty) visited GuangXi University for Natioalities (GXUN), China and XiangShiHu (XSH) College, China.

In this meeting, delegations of UAD and International Office of GXUN discussed the further collaboration between Economics Faculty of UAD and Business Faculty of GXUN such as Joint Degree Programs, Mandarin Class for Economics students of UAD who plan to study at GXUN, Lecturers Exchange, Scholarship for lecturers of UAD who wants to study at GXUN, etc.

Additionally, due to the increasing number of students from XSH College who study at UAD year by year, Lecturers from XSH College will visit UAD to look over their students’ study progress at UAD. Last but not least, UAD, GXUN and XSH College are going to conduct Joint International Seminar in August 2016. As the first step, GXUN will be the host of this event and UAD in charge of preparing proposal.

Besides discussion, Drs. Salamatun Asakdiyah, M.Si. (Dean of Economics Faculty of UAD) delivered a general lecture for Business Faculty of XSH College.

“I can see that Joint Program conducted by UAD, GXUN and UAD, XiangShiHu have been running very well, and continuously improve” said Rai Rake Setyawan,S.E.,GD.BUS.,M.S.A. (Head of Economics International Class).

He also added that these programs lead to many other programs and bring positive advantages for all.

An Alumni of UAD Wins Foreign Language Public Speaking on Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road at Guangxi , China

Al-Qur’ani Jamila wins Foreign Language Public Speaking on Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road at Guangxi , China

25 October 2015, Al-Qur’ani Jamila, an alumni of Faculty Letters, Culture and Communication of UAD who now studies at Guangxi University for Nationalities China under the grant of Chinese Government Scholarship, successively won Foreign Language Public Speaking on Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road at Guangxi , China.

This competition was conducted by GuangXi Province Government. 17 participants from almost all universities in GuangXi Province participated in this competition and 2 of them are students from GuangXi University for Nationalities China. In this competition, Al-Qur’ani Jamila won the 3rd place. She said that she did not have much time preparation for this competition. “

“I was very busy on my classes’ schedule, and I have just got information about this competition on 21st of October, which is three days before the competition holding. With the only three days I have, I did my best. Surprisingly, I won the third place. Thank you God, UAD and GXUN” she said.

A Staff of International Office Affairs of UAD Does Internship Program at BINUS University

In order to internationalize Indonesian education, Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) encourages universities to succeed some programs. UAD, as one of universities which gets fund from DIKTI, points Nurun Isnaeni as a representative of OIA UAD to get experience in BINUS University.

Nurun Isnaeni, from 13^rd to 27^th of September 2015, did internship program at BINUS University. She learnt handling international program such as hosting international students, immigration service, inbound and outbound students, opening cooperation, etc. .

“BINUS University largely known has strong and large international cooperation, so I am so glad that I have chances to learn there. Everybody warmly welcomed me. Moreover they are very helpful in giving advice and guidance. I learnt much”, said Nurun Isnaeni.

Additionally, this program brings new cooperation plans between UAD and BINUS University. As a further realization of the program, the director of international office UAD will visit BINUS University to join international workshop conducted by BINUS University.

Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Conducts International Community Engagement in Thailand

International Community Engagement of UAD in Thailand

27th July to 27 August 2015. Located at four different places in Thailand, 8 students of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan conducted International Community Engagement. They are three students from Faculty of Pharmacy, one student from Faculty of Biology, one student from Indonesian Literature and Education Study Program, and three students from English Education Study Program.

Three students from Faculty of Pharmacy conducted International Community Engagement at Rangsit University and Narathiwat Rajanagarindra Hospital.

“They welcomed us friendly, we met and consulted with many patients. They speak Malay so we can communicate easily”

Moreover, five students from Faculty of Biology, Indonesian Literature and Education Study Program, and English Education Study Program conducted International Community Engagement at Suksasat School and Songserm Wittaya School.

Their program consisted of teaching Indonesian, English and Islamic Value, etc. Additionally, they did sport and other outdoor activities with students.

Two lecturers of UAD give speech at UNC, Philippines

16th August 2015. Located at Nueva Caceres University (UNC), Philippines, two lecturers (Prof. Sarbiran, Ph.D., and Eko Nursulistiyo, S.Si) of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan gave speeches on University Engagement Through Research Culture Development and Innovations. UAD was invited because of its success in conducting International Community Engagement.

There were about 200 people consisted of lecturers and students from UNC eagerly participated in this event. Moreover, 3 lecturers from University of Saint Anthony came to joint this event.

“Participants enthusiastically give questions, they are interested to do joint research with UAD” said Eko Nursulistiyo, S.Si. In addition, Prof. Sarbiran,Ph.D., said “We always open chances to do joint research with UNC and University of Saint Anthony”.
