<> Place: Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (Kyoto, Japan)

<> Dates: October 31 (Wed) – November 6 (Tues)
<> Length: 1 week
<> Theme: Youth Power: Language, Culture, Tourism and Peace
<> Sponsors: Japan Association for Language Teaching & PAC Consortium
<> Participants: 50 – 70 youth (overseas Asians + local Japanese)
Schedule (Fall 2018)
* DAY 1 Oct 31 (Wed) Arrival day in Kyoto (registration, orientation)
* DAY 2 Nov 1 (Thu) AYF Opening Ceremony, Kyoto City Tour, Welcome Party
* DAY 3 Nov 2 (Fri) AYF academic program (seminars & workshops)
* DAY 4 Nov 3 (Sat) AYF academic program (seminars & workshops)
* DAY 5 Nov 4 (Sun) AYF academic program (seminars & workshops)
* DAY 6 Nov 5 (Mon) Kyoto excursions, Closing Ceremony, Farewell Party
* DAY 7 Nov 6 (Tues) Departure day (participants return home)
AYF PARTICIPANTS
<> AYF participants should be Asian university students age 18 – 25
<> AYF participants should be Asian university students age 18 – 25
<> They should have an interest in Asia and a good command of English
AYF COSTS
<> AYF students will need to pay 2 costs:
* round-trip travel expenses to Kyoto, Japan from their home country
* a US $400 participation fee (to cover 1 week’s accommodation, meals and program)

AYF AIMS
<> The Asian Youth Forum is a 1-week international event which brings together college-aged students from across Asia for academic seminars, intercultural workshops, social events and interpersonal exchanges
<> AYF aims to promote international understanding, cross-cultural communication and leadership skills using English-as-a-global-language
<> Previous AYF events have been held in Japan, Vietnam, Russia, Thailand, the Philippines, Korea and Taiwan.
