The Indonesian Embassy in The Hague Welcomed the UAD Delegation
The UAD delegation led by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Rusyidi Umar, Ph.D. welcomed by the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague to discuss potential collaborations. The focus of this meeting is to build a network of collaborations, especially in the academic field. In addition to discussing the cooperation between UAD and the Indonesian Embassy, the delegation also discussed the potential for foreign grants, such as Erasmus Plus. UAD has received 4 Erasmus grants in different schemes, in 2017 UAD received an Erasmus grant on entrepreneurship, in 2019 it received a grant on disaster management, in 2020 it received a grant on leadership, most recently UAD received a scholarship on student mobility. The UAD delegation hoped that the meeting could open up new opportunities to get other grants.
On this occasion, the UAD delegation also discussed a short-term plan to invite the Dutch ambassador to Indonesia and the Cultural Education Attaché, as well as the Indonesian ambassador to the Netherlands in an international seminar. The UAD delegation also promoted several programs, both short and regular programs for international students. Especially the Go-Jogja program which will be launched soon. This program is a short 1 year program for international students to learn Indonesian language and culture. The Education and Culture Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague considers UAD a credible institution in organizing international classes and willing to promote UAD to Dutch people who are interested in studying in Indonesia. According to the Director of KKUI, Dwi Santoso, Ph.D. “A visit to the Indonesian Embassy in the Netherlands is a strategic step for UAD to promote programs for international students. The Netherlands and Indonesia has historical proximity and there are many prospective students who are interested in studying in Indonesia.”
