Two Darmasiswa students of UAD, Liana Snytsar (Ukraine) and (Kim Soo Yeon (South Korea) have been conduting Community Service Program in SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta since 22nd March 2016. This program is one of the requirements they have to finish during their one year Darmasiswa Program. In school, they get opportunities to directly practice their Indonesian ability by communicating with the students. Further, they can experience how to teach children. They taught English, their languages, as well as their cultures.
In 27st March 2016, they had a great chance to be adjudicators in “Muhammadiyah Elementary school Spelling Bee Competition”. This competition was participated by almost all of Muhammadiyah Elementary Schools in Yogyakarta. Liana Snytsar (Ukraine) judged Spelling Bee Competition of Grade 4 to 6 and Kim Soo Yeon (South Korea) judged Spelling Bee Competition of Grade 1 to 3.
“It is one of my unforgettable experiences during my study in Indonesia. It was quite difficult to give my judgemnt to the students because they all speak English well. Moreover, they are so cute”, said Liana Snytsar.
She added that she loves to do community service program and thanks to UAD for conducting this program for Darmasiswa students.
