UAD Holds The 7th International Day
Located at green hall Kampus 1 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta, Dr. Kasiyarno M.Hum. (Rektor of UAD) and Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. (Director of International Office) officially opened the 7th International Day of UAD. Further, this amazing event was attended by Dr. Abdul Fadlil, M.T. (Vice Rector III), Prof. Sarbiran,Ph.D. (Vice Rector IV), and Faculty members.
There were two main agendas in this great opportunity, and all of them are free in charge!
The first is international food exhibition. This exhibition was started at 9am and finished at 12 am. There were 13 booths from 8 different countries. International students from some universities, many students of UAD, faculty members and staff of UAD eagerly came and tasted the served foods.
“This event is always marvelous, we hardly wait this event” said some visitors.
The second is “UAD Asing Star”. UAD Asing Star is a singing competition, the participants are international students from all of universities in Yogyakarta and Central Java. Some of them sang Indonesian songs and others sang English songs.
From food festival stage, about 500 visitors came to the international food festival of the 7th International Day.
They enthusiastically tasted international flavors , they moved from one booth to others in 13 booths.
In the closing ceremony, all of international students curiously waited the announcement of the food festival winners. The winners were chosen based on the numbers of the visitors in their booth.
The visitors chose team Thailand 2 UAD as the most favorite team, team China UAD as the best team work, team Thailand 1 UAD as the most creative team, and team Malaysia UAD as the best booth. Every year, team Thailand is always granted as one of the winners!
“Decoration of their booth attracts as to visit, taste their food and ask deeper about Thailand”, said some visitors.

From UAD Asing Start singing competition Stage. As all of the performances deeply touch the adjudicators’ hearth, the final round tightly run. Then, finally, the adjudicators decided that the first winner is Randrianary Bodeniraina (international student of UGM from Madagascar), the second winner is Le Phong Vinh (international student of UNY fron Vietnam), the third winner is Li Ji (international student of UAD from China), and the forth winner is Maia B. X. D. Baptista (international student of STTNAS from Timor Leste).
Further, the best participants are given to duet of Mus-ab Buenae Leetha Kaddah (international students of UAD from Thailand and Suraida Salaeh (international student of UGM from Thailand).
“It was quite hard to decide the winners, all of the participants did their best. Finally, we chose Randrianary Bodeniraina as the first winner because she sang from the deepest of her heart and softly touch our feeling.” Said Ida Puspita, M.A.Res. (The director of OIA UAD) as one of the adjudicators.
