UAD Sent 37 Students for Credit Transfer with the Grant from Ministry of Education and Culture
The Rector of UAD officially sent 37 students for credit transfer to partner universities both national and international on Thursday, October 1, 2020. The national and international credit transfer programs received a grant from the Ministry of Education and Culture. UAD has received several International Credit Transfer (ICT) grants but it is the first time UAD received national credit transfer. Permata Sakti Program (Indonesian Archipelago Student Exchange-Credit Transfer Systems with Information Technology) handled directly at the university level. UAD has experienced to manage international credit transfer since 2009 through several programs (Asian International Mobility for Students / AIMS, international transfer credit, and joint degrees). In 2020, due to a pandemic, the programs are combined into an International Credit Transfer using the online method.
PERMATA-SAKTI program and International Credit Transfer are programs from the Ministry of Education and Culture to implement Merdeka Belajar (Freedom of Learning) which was initiated by the Minister Nadiem Makarim. The programs allow students to take courses offered at partner universities in Indonesia and abroad with online learning. These two programs are for one semester in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year.
UAD received funding for ICT fOR 7 students from 5 study programs (Master of Professional Psychology to University Malaysia Sarawak and University of Philippines Manila, Masters English Education to University of Saint Anthony Philippines, English Literature to UitM Malaysia, Arabic Language and Literature to Universiti of Malaya, and Bachelor of English Education to UiTM Malaysia). The funding is distributed to support internet fee, books, journal access, health support, program fees, and university management fees. Several study programs send more students so that the total number is 11 students.
UAD received a quota of 26 students to take credit from 26 partner private universities in Indonesia such as, Universitas Bandar Lampung, STIE Jakarta, UM Jakarta, UM Palangkaraya, UM Pringsewu, Universitas Pendididkan Muhammadiyah Sorong , Trisakti Transportation and Logistics Institute, Universitas Trisakti , Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, IKIP Siliwangi, Universitas Bina Insani and Universitas Kuningan. UAD also accepts 47 students to take several courses offered in the Biology Study Program, Counseling Guidance, Law, Industrial Engineering, Information Engineering, and Indonesian Literature. There are 12 partner private universities sent their students to UAD, such as UM Kendari, Universitas Almuslim Aceh, Universitas Trisakti, UM Palangkaraya, IKIP Siliwangi, Universitas Bandar Lampung, Universitas Kuningan, Universitas Bosowa, Universitas Langlangbuana, UM Sindereng Rappang, UKI Paulus Makassar and the Institute of Education Indonesia.
Ida Puspita M.A. Res., as the head of the ICT and Permata-Sakti Team as well as the Head of International Affairs Division said, “UAD is very grateful to get the trust from the Ministry of Education and Culture to receive grants for credit transfer programs both at national and international level since 2009. These two programs are medium for UAD in implementing Merdeka Belajar (Freedom of Learning Program) from the Ministry of Education and Culture and we hope that UAD continues to strengthen the national and international network as the commitment to become an international recognized Muhammadiyah University.” [i]
