Ahmad Luqman Hakim, A Student of Arabic Language and Literature UAD: The Runner Up on Arabic Debate Championship 1436 H in Malaysia
Ahmad Luqman Hakim, a student of Arabic Language and Literature UAD, together with two students of Universiti Malaya (UM) Malaysia, were the Runner Up on Ma’al Hijrah Arabic Debate Championship 1436 H/ 2014 M among universities in Malaysia. Held from October 31 to November 3, 2014, this debate championship discussed issues on Islam, Malaysia and International. Participated by 20 universities, this championship was held at International Islamic Universiti Malaysia (IIUM) Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Luqman, as his friends call him, is now at his seventh semester at UAD. He, together with other three students represents UAD at ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) program and study Arabic Language and Linguistics at Universiti Malaya. Because of his good capability in Arabic, he was selected to represent Universiti Malaya in Arabic Debate Championship.
“Beside trained at UM, I was also trained the artistic technique of Arabic Debate by one of UAD lecturer, Abdul Malik, S.S., M.Hum.” said Luqman.
“Alhamdulillah we could be the first runner up, Luqman from UAD has a big contribution in this success because before this time, we have never won the Arabic Debate Championship in Malaysia national level,” said Dr. Muhammad Hazrul, one lecturer of Universiti Malaya.
