Yogyakarta, Faculty of Pharmacy UAD held an international guest lecture on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Kampus 3 UAD. This international guest lecture invited three international speakers from Thailand who are expert in traditional medicine. This guest lecture, entitled Development of Traditional Medicine was officially opened by the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Dyah Aryani Perwitasari, M. Sc. Ph. D., Apt. In her opening speech, she expected this event could inspire the candidate of pharmacists especially in traditional medicine field.
The event was divided into three presentation sessions from Thai speakers. The first was presentation from Prof. Dr. Krisana Kraisintu, Dean of Faculty of Oriental Medicine at Rangsit University, talking about her experience in African countries in making traditional medicines and her experience of making the Halal Products of them. Then it continued by Assistant Professor Sirirat Pinsuwan, Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Prince of Songkla University, explaining about the job field for pharmacists. The last speaker, Assistant Professor Yupa Tengwattanachoti, Deputy Dean Faculty of Oriental Medicine at Rangsit University, gave tutorial of Thailand traditional massage and the practice of it. Between the first and the second presentation, Assistant Professor Yupa Tengwattanachoti gave a streaching as trained all participants to do traditional massage by themselves. The success of the event can be seen from the huge number of participants in the room and also the interactive question-answer session. The event was closed by handing over the souvenir from UAD for the speakers.
On the next day, all the speakers had a business meeting with UAD, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), and Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMP) at Kampus 1 UAD. This meeting was attended by Rector of UAD (Drs. Kasiyarno, M.Hum), Vice Reactor I of UAD (Drs. Muchlas, M.T.), Dean Faculty of Pharmacy UAD (Dr. Dyah Aryani Perwitasari, S.Si.,M.Si.,Apt.), Director of Pharmacy Postgraduate Program (Prof. Dr. Achmad Mursyidi, Apt.,M.Sc.), Head of Office of International Affairs (Ida Puspita, M.A.), Vice Rector I of Universitas Muhammadiyah, and Vice Rector I of Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang. This meeting discussed about the cooperation between UAD, Rangsit University, and Prince of Songkla University. (Eci,-Ryn)
