UAD Welcomes 4,114 New Students, Included 49 International Students, at the Opening Ceremony of P2K 2025
Yogyakarta – Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) officially opened the 2025 Campus Orientation Program (P2K) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The event was held in a blended format offline at the Amphitarium, Campus 4 UAD, and online through digital platforms attended by thousands of new students from various regions and countries.
Chairman of the 2025 P2K Berdaya Committee, Pandorawan Majda, delivered an enthusiastic speech to the Dahlan Muda (UAD freshmen). “Welcome to the big family of UAD. Students should not only be agents of change, but also agents of revolution. We must contribute to bringing benefits to society,” he said.
UAD Rector, Prof. Dr. Muchlas, M.T., explained that this year UAD admitted 4,114 new students, including 49 international students from eight countries: Suriname, Madagascar, Egypt, South Korea, Yemen, China, Malaysia, and Thailand. The presence of international students reflects the growing trust of the global community in UAD. He added that through the Campus Orientation Program (P2K), students will be introduced to both the academic and non-academic environment of UAD, while also being given the opportunity to develop interests, talents, intellectual capacity, and emotional intelligence. “UAD students must have the spirit to drive civilization forward,” he emphasized.
The Opening of P2K 2025 was symbolically inaugurated by the Rector of UAD through the placement of a mock-up cube. The procession was also attended by the Chairman of the UAD Board of Trustees (BPH), Prof. Dr. Irwan Akib, M.Pd., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ir. Sunardi, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Gatot Sugiharto, S.H., M.H., Head of the Student and Alumni Bureau (Bimawa), Dr. Choirul Fajri, S.I.Kom., M.A., as well as the Chairman of the 2025 P2K Committee. The event continued with the symbolic donning of the almamater jacket by representatives of the new students, which was simultaneously followed by all freshmen, both offline and online.
In addition to the new students, P2K Berdaya 2025 was also attended by five international students from the 2024 intake who had not joined the 2024 P2K series due to delayed international arrivals. They came from Singapore, Thailand, Sudan, and Yemen.
The presence of international students added a special touch to the moment. One of them, Mustaqim bin Ramdzan, a student from Singapore in the Hadith Studies Program, expressed his happiness at being part of UAD. “The P2K opening event was very enjoyable and well-organized. I am grateful to the committee for involving me in the almamater jacket ceremony. I feel very happy with this event,” he said.
The series of Opening P2K 2025 activities concluded with the screening of a program teaser and a joint prayer led by Dr. Nur Kholis, S.Ag., M.Ag., Vice Rector for Islamic and Muhammadiyah Affairs (AIK).
With the spirit of Berdaya UAD 2025, thousands of new students are now officially part of the UAD family, stepping into their academic journey and commitment to serve society.
