Yogyakarta — Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) welcomed a delegation from the Indonesian–Thai Alumni Association (PERSAIT) on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Held at the UAD Global Lounge, the visit served as an opportunity to strengthen ties between PERSAIT and UAD while exploring potential collaboration to support educational development and international relations.
The PERSAIT delegation was represented by its President, Yazuli Bindulem, and representative Assanai Chotiwong. They were welcomed by Afit Istiandaru, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of UAD’s Office of Cooperation. The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to get to know each other and discuss potential areas of collaboration for the future.
The visit was also connected to the arrival of students from Thailand who would be pursuing their studies at UAD. On this occasion, PERSAIT representatives accompanied the students and toured the university campus to learn more about UAD as one of the higher education institutions in Indonesia welcoming international students.
The delegation was also accompanied by two Thai students currently studying at UAD: Aesah Yaka from the Islamic Banking Study Program and Nihasri Niseng from the Communication Studies Study Program. Their presence reflects the role of international students in fostering cross-border relationships and strengthening UAD’s diverse academic environment.
In addition to accompanying the students, PERSAIT expressed its initiative to explore potential cooperation with UAD. This initiative is expected to serve as an initial step toward building closer institutional ties and creating opportunities for collaboration in education and international networking. Further discussions will be needed to determine forms of cooperation that align with the needs and potential of both parties.
Through this visit, UAD continues to expand its international network by engaging with various partners, including the Indonesian alumni community in Thailand. The relationships established are expected to support student mobility, the exchange of experiences, and the development of cross-border educational collaboration in the future.
The PERSAIT visit marks a step toward building sustained communication and synergy between UAD and its international partners. By exploring these cooperation opportunities, both parties hope to further strengthen educational relations between Indonesia and Thailand and generate mutual benefits.
