2+2 Joint Degree Program
Overview
The 2+2 Joint Degree Program is an international academic collaboration that enables students to complete their studies at two partner universities and earn academic degrees in accordance with the academic regulations of each institution.
Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) has been implementing the 2+2 Joint Degree Program since 2009 through strategic partnerships with leading universities in China. The program provides students with valuable international academic experience while enhancing their global perspectives, intercultural competence, and professional competitiveness.
Under this scheme, students spend the first two years of their studies at their home university and the remaining two years at the partner university. Upon successful completion of all academic requirements and credit recognition procedures, students will be awarded academic degrees in accordance with the agreement between the participating universities.
Since its establishment, the program has welcomed 395 inbound students from partner universities in China, demonstrating UAD’s long-standing commitment to international collaboration and academic mobility.
Objectives
The 2+2 Joint Degree Program aims to:
- Provide students with an international learning experience through study at two universities.
- Strengthen academic collaboration between Universitas Ahmad Dahlan and its international partner universities.
- Enhance students’ academic competence, intercultural communication skills, and global perspectives.
- Develop graduates who are well-prepared for international careers and further education.
- Promote academic exchange and cross-cultural understanding between Indonesia and partner countries.
Program Structure
The program is generally conducted under the following scheme:
- Years 1–2: Students complete their studies at their home university.
- Years 3–4: Students continue their studies at the partner university.
- Credits are recognized according to the academic agreement between both institutions.
- Students must fulfill all academic and administrative requirements of both universities.
- Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive academic degrees in accordance with the applicable partnership agreement.
The implementation of the program may vary depending on the study program and the agreement with each partner university.

The 2+2 Joint Degree Program at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan is currently offered in collaboration with the following partner universities in China:
- Guangxi Minzu University (GXUN)
- Hainan University (HNU)
- Guangxi University of Foreign Languages (GUFL)
These partnerships reflect UAD’s commitment to expanding international collaboration and providing students with high-quality global learning opportunities.

Registration Information

Information regarding application periods, eligibility requirements, selection procedures, and program implementation will be announced by the Global Engagement Office (GEO) in collaboration with the respective study programs.
