International Students of UAD Seize The First and Third Places in Indonesian Speech Competition
In celebrating International Labour Day, Universitas Aisyiyah Yogyakarta conducted a National Indonesian Speech Competition. In this opportunity, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan under International Office sent three international students to participate in this event, they are Wei Qingni (Jenie) dan Feng Yangming (Reza) students from China dan Ali Abdulraoof Taha Al-Maktari (Yemen).
Wei Qingni delivered a speech on “Indahnya Indonesia/ The Beautiful of Indonesia”, Feng Yangming (Reza) delivered a speech on “Perempuan Hebat Indonesia / The Heroine of Indonesia” and Ali Abdulraoof Taha Al-Maktari delivered a speech on “Bhineka Tunggal Ika/ Unity in Diversity”, a national motto of Indonesia.
Feng Yangming (Reza) was chosen as the first winner, his strong point is as an international student he could explain Indonesian history in detail in the top of that he took a large number of historical books as references such as “Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang” by Siti Nurbaya,”Azab dan Sengsar”, “ Belengg” by NH. Dini. La Barka, Hati yang Damai, Tirai Menurun, etc. Further, in his speech, he focused on Indonesian Women in Politics.
Furthermore, Ali Abdulraoof Taha Al-Maktari was decided in the third place. His speech amazed the audiences. He took “Bhineka Tunggal Ika/ Unity in Diversity” as the national motto of Indonesia due to his experiences traveling around Indonesia and he found all Indonesian are nice.
