UAD Delegation Discussed Collaboration with Leiden University Medical Center
Prof. Henk-Jan Guchelaar from Leiden University Medical Center welcomed the UAD delegation to discuss the potential for collaboration and university governance. This meeting was initiated by Prof. Dyah Aryani Perwitasari as the dean of Faculty of Pharmacy who is also one of the UAD delegates. The meeting discussed university governance during the pandemic, especially how educational institutions obtain alternative sources of funding. Then the discussion continued by discussing the potential for cooperation between UAD and Leiden University Medical Center in the academic field and student mobility. The potential cooperation schemes discussed include joint/double degree, joint research/publication/seminar, visiting professor, student mobility, scholarship for Ph.D program, credit transfer, summer camp. UAD through the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Psychology has collaborated with Leiden University Medical Center since 2015, and the discussion this time was to formulate the new cooperation in the current pandemic era. Previously, UAD had invited Professor Adrian A. Kaptein from Leiden University Medical Center as visiting professor in 2013.
The program that will be initiated in the future is joint research between the Faculty of Pharmacy, UAD and Leiden University Medical Center. At this meeting, UAD and Leiden University Medical Center explored collaboration with other faculties in UAD, since the previous collaboration only with faculty of Psychology and Pharmacy. According to the head of KKUI, Dwi Santoso, Ph.D., this visit is also intended to revitalize the cooperation that has been initiated for a long time. Besides that, this visit is an attempt by UAD to get contact person professors for UAD lecturers who want to continue their doctoral degree in the Netherlands. or for post-doctoral programs. “We also learned a lot about scholarship opportunities for the academic community who will continue their education, not only for UAD lecturers, but scholarships for UAD alumni who want to study in the Netherlands”.
