Your journey as an international student at UAD begins the moment you arrive in Indonesia. To ensure a smooth and comfortable transition, the Global Engagement Office (GEO) is committed to supporting you throughout your arrival process—from your first day in Indonesia until you are fully settled into campus life.
This page provides essential information about what you should do after arriving in Indonesia, including airport procedures, accommodation, transportation, university registration, and orientation. We encourage you to read this guide carefully to help you begin your academic journey with confidence.
Arrival at the Airport
Most international students traveling to Universitas Ahmad Dahlan will arrive at Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA).
After landing, please complete the following procedures:
- Proceed to the Immigration Counter for passport and visa inspection.
- Collect your checked baggage.
- Complete Customs clearance if required.
- Exit through the Arrival Hall.
Please keep your passport, visa, Letter of Acceptance (LoA), and other important travel documents easily accessible throughout the arrival process.
Confirm Your Arrival with the Global Engagement Office (GEO)
Before your departure or immediately after arriving in Yogyakarta, we strongly encourage you to inform the Global Engagement Office (GEO) of your travel schedule and arrival details.
Sharing your arrival information allows our team to prepare the necessary administrative processes, provide guidance on university registration, and assist you during your first days in Indonesia.
In addition, the Global Engagement Office (GEO) provides assistance to international students in finding suitable accommodation, including boarding houses (kost), apartments, or other housing options based on your preferences, budget, and campus location.
If you have not yet arranged accommodation before arriving in Yogyakarta, there is no need to worry. Our team will be happy to recommend suitable places to stay and help you find safe, comfortable, and convenient accommodation.
If you experience any difficulties during your journey or after arriving in Yogyakarta, please do not hesitate to contact the Global Engagement Office. We are here to support you throughout your transition to life at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.
Traveling to Your Accommodation
After leaving the airport, you may travel to your accommodation using one of the following transportation options:
- Airport Taxi
- Ride-hailing services (Grab or Gojek)
- Airport Train
- Car rental services
For your safety and convenience, we recommend using official transportation services available at the airport.
Check-in to Your Accommodation
Once you arrive at your accommodation, please complete the check-in process and familiarize yourself with the surrounding area, available facilities, transportation options, and important contact information for your accommodation provider.
If you still need assistance in finding accommodation after arriving, please contact the Global Engagement Office. Our staff will be happy to help you.
Registration at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan
All international students are required to complete the university registration process after arriving at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.
The registration process generally includes:
- Document verification.
- Student registration.
- Academic administration.
- Issuance of the Student Identification Card (Student ID).
- Immigration document verification, if applicable.
Please bring all original documents when attending the registration session.
