Darmasiswa RI Program
The Darmasiswa RI Program is a non-degree scholarship program offered by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology to international students from countries that maintain diplomatic relations with Indonesia.
The program provides participants with the opportunity to study Bahasa Indonesia, Indonesian arts, culture, and traditions at selected Indonesian universities, including Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD).
As one of the official host universities of the Darmasiswa RI Program, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan is committed to providing a comprehensive learning experience through the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) program, cultural immersion activities, and various academic and intercultural programs that introduce participants to Indonesian society and culture.
Since joining the Darmasiswa RI Program, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan has welcomed 182 international students from various countries around the world. This achievement reflects UAD’s strong commitment to promoting the Indonesian language and culture while strengthening international academic collaboration.
Program Objectives
The Darmasiswa RI Program aims to:
- Promote the Indonesian language to the international community.

Participants of the Darmasiswa RI Program at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan will take part in various learning activities, including:
Indonesian Language Classes

Indonesian Arts and Cultural Classes

In addition to classroom learning, participants will experience Indonesian culture through various cultural and educational activities, such as:
- Educational visits to cultural and historical destinations in Yogyakarta.
- Batik painting workshops.
- Visits to traditional markets.
- Traditional Indonesian cooking experiences.
- Participation in local cultural traditions and community activities.
- Traditional music and performing arts workshops.
These activities allow participants to experience Indonesian culture firsthand while interacting with local communities.
Community Engagement
As part of the program, participants also have opportunities to engage with local communities through activities such as:
- Teaching language and culture at local schools.
- Participating in community service and cultural exchange activities.
- Joining international events organized by Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.
