International Community Service Program (KKN Internasional)
Overview
The International Community Service Program (KKN Internasional) is an overseas community engagement program that provides Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) students with opportunities to gain international experience through educational services, community empowerment, and cross-cultural collaboration.
The program is implemented as part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative and is organized through the collaboration of the Higher Education, Research and Development Council of Muhammadiyah Central Board (Majelis Diktilitbang PP Muhammadiyah), Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA), Indonesian Education Attachés, Indonesian Community Learning Centers (Sanggar Bimbingan), Muhammadiyah Special Branches (PCIM), and other international partners.
Currently, participants are assigned to Sanggar Bimbingan (Community Learning Centers) across Peninsular Malaysia, where they work alongside students from various PTMAs. Depending on future partnerships and program development, the destinations may be expanded to other countries.
The primary beneficiaries of the program are school-aged children attending the Community Learning Centers, including Indonesian migrant children, local residents, and surrounding communities.
Program Objectives
The International Community Service Program aims to:
- Provide educational support for Indonesian children living abroad.
- Empower teachers, instructors, facilitators, volunteers, and Muhammadiyah communities overseas.
- Develop students’ practical skills through experiential learning and intercultural collaboration.
- Strengthen students’ ability to work effectively in diverse international environments.
- Enhance students’ critical thinking, academic writing, and problem-solving skills through community engagement activities.
- Produce quality scientific publications based on community service projects.
- Improve graduates’ competencies while promoting educational innovation through adaptive, progressive, and impactful community service.
- Support the achievement of learning outcomes under the MBKM and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) frameworks.
- Foster globally minded graduates who are capable of becoming future leaders and agents of positive change.

Program Duration
The program is conducted according to the official schedule announced for each program period.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- Pass the administrative selection conducted by the organizing committee.
- Achieve a minimum grade of A in the Al-Qur’an Reading Proficiency Test.
- Obtain a recommendation from the Head of the Study Program.
- Receive parental or guardian approval.
- Be willing to cover personal travel expenses to the assigned program location in accordance with the applicable regulations.
