27 Students of UAD Study At Universities in UL, Poland, South Korea and Malaysia
Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) officially conducted preparation classes and an onboarding ceremony for 27 students studying abroad through varied programs. Five students were granted the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology cooperated with Indonesia Endowment Funds for Education (LPDP), fifteen students were granted The Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) scholarship, and seven students are U to U program.
IISMA is one of the Independent Learning Campus Independent flagships endowing Indonesian students to take part in the international mobility students program at renowned overseas universities. The students study for one semester gaining multidisciplinary knowledge based on students’ interests through various courses to get first-hand experience of learning the local culture and have field practice empowering their skills at host universities. This program guarantees 20 credits named based on courses’ names at host universities to ensure the students will not be left behind due to following this program.
Fatya Sastaviyana Anasya, a student of the Psychology Department is granted a full IISMA scholarship to study at Glasgow University, United Kingdom. Additionally, four students are granted IISMA Co-funding. IISMA Co-funding is a partial funding scheme between the government and the student to allow greater opportunities for Indonesians to study for a semester at the best universities around the world. The students in this program gain the same opportunities as the IISMA regular. Agam Ringga (English Education), and Irfan Mahindra Yunanto Putra (English Literature) will study at Warsaw University, Poland, Abelya Firdana Putri (English Literature) will study at Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Aulia Salsabila (English Literature) will study at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia under this program. Encouraging this program, UAD supports some components including free tuition fees for one semester during the program, living and accommodation costs, visa and visa processing fees, health insurance, and Duolingo test fees.
The Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme is SEAMEO RIHED’s flagship regional initiative to support the mobility of students and enhance cooperation in higher education among countries in Asia. Indonesia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, Japan, and the Republic of Korea are involved in this program.
UAD has been granted this program since 2010 and includes Language and Literature and Engineering Departments. The study programs involved are English Literature, Arabic Language and Literature, Indonesian Literature, Industrial Engineering, Informatics Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. Partner universities include Universiti Malaya (Arabic Language and Literature), Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia (English Literature), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (Chemical Engineering, Informatics Engineering, and Industrial Engineering), Thamassat University (English Literature), University of Brunei Darussalam (English Literature), and Busan University of Foreign Studies of the Republic of Korea (Indonesian Literature). This program is two-way so UAD also receives students from the above partners.
In 2023, fifteen students are granted an AIMS scholarship. They are Azmi Nur Dyah (Industrial Engineering), Terry Casyaria (Industrial Engineering), Aditya Oryza Mahendra (Informatics), Haidir Abdillah (Informatics), Citra Yuliana (Chemical Engineering), Tamara Dwi Jayanti (Chemical Engineering), and Suci Rahmadani (Industrial Engineering) are going to study at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). Two Indonesian Literature students, Novita Aulia Rahmah and Afriza Rieanza Naqiyya Mufti are going to study at Busan University of Foreign Studies, Republic of Korea. Three students Muhammad Shollahudin, Azmi Sani, and Alsyifsnita RA. Oktaviana of Arabic Language and Literature are going to study at the Universiti of Malaya, Malaysia. Three English Literature students consist of Abdee Firman Al Rayid, Hanung Falakh Salsabila, and Nailana Amirah Fahlevi are going to study at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.
Furthermore, six students under U to U programs are going to study at partner universities in Malaysia and China. This program is a non-scholarship program. Lu’lu Shofiyatul Jannah (Management) will do a two years Joint Degree Program at Guangxi University for Nationalities. Revvoh Yunadi AP (Management), and Ahmad Aziz Prasetyo (Management) will study at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). Dian Zharifah (Management), Atika Silma Daima (Food Service Industry), Dwi Lestari Lukviana (Food Service Industry), and Nisywa Dwiza Reihan (Food Service Industry) will do a semester exchange program at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

The briefing was held on August 23, it consisted of a briefing on Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan delivered by Rahmadi Wibowo Suwarno. Lc., M.A., M.Hum. (Head of LPSI UAD), briefing on soft skills by Dr. Choirul Fajri S.I.Kom. M.A. (Head of BIMAWA UAD), Cross-Cultural Understanding by Ida Puspita, M.A. Res. (Head of International Partnership Division), and psychology briefing delivered by Triantoro Safaria S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D.
The on-boarding ceremony was held on August 24 2023 and was officially opened by Rusydi Umar, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Vice Rector of Academic Affairs), and attended by Ida Puspita, M.A.Res., and the Deans and Heads of related Study Programs
On this occasion, Rusydi Umar, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. expressed the university’s full support for student achievements in obtaining IISMA and AIMS scholarships. As well as high appreciation for students who are willing to take part in the U to U program at partner universities at their own expense.
