UAD Participates in Indonesia Education Fair 2026, Thai Alumni Bridge Information for Students in Southern Thailand
Pattani, Thailand, September 2, 2026 — The enthusiasm of students in Southern Thailand for opportunities to pursue higher education in Indonesia was evident at the Indonesia Education Fair (IEF) 2026, held at Prince of Songkla University (PSU) Pattani, Thailand, on Wednesday (2/9/2026). The event provided a platform for various Indonesian higher education institutions to introduce their academic programs, scholarship opportunities, and educational experiences to prospective students from Thailand.
A total of 30 Indonesian higher education institutions participated in IEF 2026. One of them was Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), represented by the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (KKUI UAD).
During the University Exhibition and Booth Visits session, the UAD booth attracted students and visitors from Thailand who were interested in learning more about opportunities to pursue higher education in Indonesia. Visitors discussed various topics, including study programs offered by UAD, international student admission procedures, scholarships, student life, and the experience of studying in Yogyakarta.
Interestingly, UAD also involved Thai UAD alumni who are currently in Thailand to help introduce the university directly to visitors. The presence of alumni provided an added strength, as information about studying at UAD could be shared from the perspective of former students who understand both the Thai cultural background and the experience of studying in Indonesia.
These direct interactions allowed visitors to gain insights not only into academic matters but also into the experience of being an international student at UAD, including life in Yogyakarta, the academic environment, and the process of adapting to Indonesian culture.
The enthusiasm of the visitors reflected growing interest among students in Southern Thailand in pursuing higher education opportunities in Indonesia. Several visitors actively asked questions and engaged in discussions about study program options, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities at UAD.
UAD’s participation in IEF 2026 also reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening internationalization in higher education while expanding its academic network in Southeast Asia. Through events such as this, UAD seeks to provide broader access to educational information for prospective international students while introducing Yogyakarta as a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally rich academic environment.
For prospective students from Thailand, the opportunity to interact directly with UAD alumni from Thailand also provided a closer perspective on student life in Indonesia. Their experiences can serve as a valuable reference for prospective students as they consider pursuing higher education abroad.
UAD’s participation in international education fairs serves not only as a means of promoting its academic programs but also as an opportunity to build closer relationships with prospective students and educational partners in Thailand. The involvement of alumni as part of UAD’s representation also demonstrates how international student experiences can serve as a bridge for strengthening people-to-people and university-to-university relations between the two countries.
Through its participation in Indonesia Education Fair 2026, UAD continues to strengthen its internationalization efforts by bringing information about educational opportunities in Indonesia closer to the international community. Moving forward, UAD remains committed to expanding collaboration and academic mobility opportunities, enabling more students from various countries, including Thailand, to study, grow, and gain international experience at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.
