UAD Hosts Taiwan Government Scholarship Information Session in Collaboration with the Taiwan Education Center
Yogyakarta – The Office of Cooperation and International Affairs (OCIA) of Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD), in collaboration with the Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia Yogyakarta Regional Office, organized a scholarship information session titled “Unlock Your Future with Taiwan Government Scholarship” on May 27, 2026. The event was held at the Audio-Visual Room of the Muhammadiyah Museum and was attended by UAD lecturers, Indonesian students, and international students interested in pursuing higher education in Taiwan.
The event was officially opened by Ulaya Ahdiani, S.S., M.Hum., Head of the Office of Cooperation and International Affairs at UAD. In her welcoming remarks, she emphasized that the event reflects UAD’s commitment to expanding access to international education opportunities and providing comprehensive information for members of the university community, particularly students aspiring to continue their studies abroad.
The session featured M. Bima Aoron Hafiz, Manager of the Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia Yogyakarta Regional Office, as the keynote speaker. During the presentation, participants received comprehensive information about Taiwan’s higher education system, scholarship opportunities, student exchange programs, and international internship opportunities through the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP).
In his presentation, M. Bima Aoron Hafiz explained that Taiwan has become an increasingly attractive study destination for Indonesian students due to its world-class higher education system, safe and welcoming environment, affordable cost of living, and extensive support for international students. He also highlighted Taiwan’s global reputation as a leading hub for technology, semiconductors, innovation, and research.
Participants were introduced to various scholarship programs offered by the Taiwan Government, including the Ministry of Education (MOE) Taiwan Scholarship, the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES), as well as numerous scholarship schemes provided directly by Taiwanese universities. The session also covered the application process, required documents, English-taught degree programs, and opportunities to study Mandarin in Taiwan.
Beyond academic opportunities, the information session also provided valuable insights into student life in Taiwan. Participants learned about the country’s modern public transportation system, Muslim-friendly environment, part-time employment opportunities, and career prospects available after graduation.
The Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) was also introduced as an international internship opportunity that enables students to gain firsthand experience in research, industry, and Taiwanese culture. The program serves as an excellent pathway for students seeking to broaden their international exposure while building academic and professional networks on a global scale.
In addition to the scholarship presentation, the event featured Apt. Lalu Muhammad Irham, M.Farm., Ph.D., a UAD lecturer who completed his doctoral studies in Taiwan. During the session, he shared his academic journey and personal experiences of studying in Taiwan, including the adaptation process, learning culture, and the various opportunities available to Indonesian students throughout their studies.
The participants demonstrated great enthusiasm during the discussion and question-and-answer session. In addition to Indonesian students, several international students from UAD also attended to gain further information about scholarship and study opportunities in Taiwan.
Through this event, UAD hopes to encourage more students and lecturers to take advantage of the wide range of international education opportunities available while strengthening academic collaboration and partnerships between Indonesia and Taiwan.
